The Eastern Utah Railroad Company Ready to Begin i Survey To Meet With People of Different I Towns of County in Near Future The board of directors of the Eastern Utah Railroad company met at Wellington Welling-ton the latter part of last week and reported re-ported very favorably on the preliminary work of the proposed railroad. Ira R. Browning, who has the surveying in charge, was dispatched to Salt Lake City on Monday last to confer with the Rio Grande relative to the manner in which connections are to be made with that line. Other matters pertaining to the survey of th3 new road will be attended at-tended to by Mr. Browning and as soon as he returns, representatives of the company will meet with the people of the several tovns to ascertain the feeling feel-ing of the people regarding the right of way. If the pe iple of this CRintv are interested in thi development of their country, and want to see the railroad come this way it is up to them to give the company tha right of way. This request is ni mre thin jjst aid every county-'o.i.ng citizen will surely give his consent to anything in reason th it will mean greater facilities for the people. There is butlittle loubt but that the con-pny con-pny will get the right of way if the m itter is presented to the proper .y owners. No one expects this railroa to p iss between be-tween man and wife, but there may be a small few who do not care to hear the whistle of the iron horse, and to such all that can b; aid is. the o ijnt O live in the mi 1st of s me desert where their only annoyance would be the burning sun. This will be an excellent opportunity oppor-tunity for tne people to show whether they are interested in the advancement of this valley or not. RIO GRANDS COVIPANY FAIR The Rio Grande Western has been as fair and done as much toward the development de-velopment of this project as though th;y were themselves tne prom iters," says Vice-Presil; it Seely. Tn;y do not propose to bj.il lan more branch lines, but will be prepared to handle 100 tons ot coaf daily tnat will soon be shipped ship-ped from this county by the new roa I. A NEW CONTRACT A new contrac. is already being drawn up between the new railroad company and a coal company in tne southern part of the county, binding the E astern Utah to freight 100 tons of coal out of the county daily. W-; will hear m ireof tne coal company that proposes to operate soon at a later dace. FINANCE OF NBW COMPANY SE3URE "Tne finance for the proposed road could not be more secure were it now lvin.r idle in the s ivi.igs ban.-c waiting! for us to draw it," says Mr. Seely. Tne ! capitalists are only waiting for the peo- j pie of this county to furnish the right j of way. RAILROAD TO COME CLOSE TO TOWN ! For the benefit of the people of the j county the road will come as close to the towns as the people desire. The j company will be able to accommodate i the towns in this matter owing to the j fact that the grading will be comparatively compara-tively light. The company isn't coming in to carry coal only, but will be prepared to carry all farm products and even passengers, just think! The people of this section welcome the niws of this nroiact and there is no trouble anticipated in securing the right of way, and every other encouragement in reason. Everyone is anxious and the great cry of the present is, "Boost for the railroad." and let the skeptic laugh. Never in the hirtoryof Enery county were the prospects of a railroad as good a3 to lay. and never were the people more anxious to see sucli a project succeed. |
