Show GRADING BEGINS ON - EASTERN UTAH RAILWAY Provision having been made cor the disposal of the bonds of the Eastern Utah railway, grading has oen started in hall a dozen different places and by the end of the week, contracts will have been let providing for the completion of the first 20 miles of the roadbed within 90 days, according to Harry Wade, presiJent of the company, who came to Salt Lake from his home in Pric, tJ complete negotiations for the floating of the bonds. Deals have beer, consummated with several large coal companies, declares Mr. Wade, to handle an aggregate of 1.000 tons of coal daily as soon as the road is put in operation. In addition to this, the agricultural produces tonnage has been carefully considered and it has been found that this alone will justify the operation of 30 miles of the road as soon as it can be completed. Branching to the soutnwest from Wellington, where the new road leaves the line of the Denver & Rio Grande, the Eastern Utah will pass through a dozen thriving towns in the 60 miles between be-tween Wellington and E n.'ry, the terminal near the Sevier county line. Thirty miles of the new road follows the old survey of the S ilina cut-off made 20 years ago when the Denver & Rio Grande and the Utah Central were competing for the southern territory. Twenty miles of grading which was done at that time needs only a little shaping up to put it in condition for the laying of steel. The territory which will be tapped by the new road has been pronounced to be by far the richest undeveloped portion of the state and a wealth of mineral sources which have never been opened will contribute to the wealth of Utah when wheels are turning on the East ern Utah route.
