Show COMMISSIONERS HOLD EXTRAJWSY MEETING Manj Items of Vital Importance to the County and Its People Presented -Favorable Action Taken -Other County News Items The commissioners met again on April 3d at Castledale. Mr. Singleton was absent on account of sickness and J. B. Crawford acted as chairman. Mrs. Celia Thayne, present health officer of Orangeville, was released and Andrew Anderson was chosen in her stead. A communication from the Manufacturers' Manufac-turers' Ass'n asking if Emery county would place on exhibition of its products for advertising purposes was considered and laid over for the present This will more than likely be acted upon favorably, favor-ably, as it would be a great benefit to the county. E. J. Grange's resignation as justice of the peace at Huntington was accepted accept-ed and a new man will be chosen to succeed him. Mr. Grange doesn't care much for the job. W. J. Seely was appointed deputy treasurer to help collect taxes. ; No county bee inspector was chosen as the people have not yet said whom they want to act in this capacity. Mr. Keeler of Denver, Colo., and E. E. Adams of Green River were present and presented a petition from citizens of Green River school district representing represent-ing the care and control of twenty-five children of school age, asking that the -commissioners establish a school district out of Green River district No. 1: said new district to be known as Green River district No. 2. Some unpleasant conflicts were foreseen as some districts, where new districts are petitioned for, .;-4e bonded and some are not. The mat- ,,er will -no doubt be settled at a later ... 'date.; J. W. Taylor and a committee from Castledale. Commercial club and others , asked that the road between here and . . Green River be designated as a state road to enable the maintenence of a , ., feasible road to the Buckhom and the ...east country. This matter met with the approval of the commissioners and the matter will be attended to. - Road commissioners and supervisors ?, were- ordered out to repair roads. . New school districts were granted the . people of Mohrland and Elmo. G. F. Oviatt, G. H. Oviatt and Adolph Axel- son were chosen as trustees of the Elmo district |
