Show National Parks Provide Great Vacations When planning a vacation, one of the first thing Utahns think about is traveling to one of the states national parks or monuments. And, with some of the worlds most spectacular scenery located in the states national parks, there is good reason for this interest. Last year, over six million people flocked to national parks and monuments in Utah, which is testimony to just how popular these areas are. Interesting Brochure The National Park Service public affairs office in Denver has produced an excel-lent brochure called National Park Areas in Utah which describes briefly each of the national parks and monuments in the state as well as general information for planning a vacation. Here is a look at some of that information: Entrance fees vary, and can cost up to $2 per car or 50 cents per person not traveling by car. A Golden Eagle Passport can be purchased for $10 annually. This provides entrance to all the parks, but does not apply to State fishing licenses are required at all parks. Motor boats must meet state and coast guard regulations on reservoirs, lakes and rivers. Some major park roads are hot plowed during the winter.
