Show CASTLEDALE CELEBRATED MEMORIAL DAY THURSDAY Last Thursday was the day dedicated to the remembrance of the departed throughout the state, and Castl dale took her place in line with her sister i towns this year in observance of this ' day sacred to loved memories. The town board gave the. move a start and arranged an excellent program They also arranged for a general clean-ing-up of the cemetery on Wednesday, an d quite a number of the local wide j awake citizens responded with the re-' re-' suit that the cemetery presented a 'greatly changed appearance when the ' procession reached there after the ser-I ser-I vices in the meeting house. One disa greeable feature, however, was the stiff wind that started up, and which made the decoration of the graves very difficult. Following was the program as ren dered Thursday morning: j Marshal of the Day A. D. Dickson in a few well chosen remarks explained the origin of the day, and the choir and audience sang "America." Prayer was offered by Blder John Y. Jensen. Solo, "The Boys of Sixty-one were Soldiers too," Miss Emma Anderson. George W. Shiner, a civil war veteren gave some very interesting reminiscences reminiscen-ces of the war and of conditions leading up to the same. In the absence of one of those on the program .the choir and congregation congrega-tion sang "Nearer, My God, to Thee." Patriotic Reading (dedicated to the band on the ill-fate Titantic.
