Just ask any of the local ranchers what the federal government is proposing to do with their (the ranchers) permits. The people of this county, along with others that are or will be affected by this monument and others that are proposed, are being oppressed by government agencies that lack the direct presence of any elected officials. They are all appointed positions, so the true sense of a representative government is lacking when it comes to agencies like the BLM. We are also slammed because we choose to exercise our rights to petition our government, whether it is as an individual or as a collective group of citizens. In fact, organized groups can accomplish more than individual citizens because ofthe ability to pool resources. Many have learned this from groups like the Sierra Club, SUWA, and other organizations. The load citizens are impacted more by these actions, and some believe that the only true resolution to this issue may be in the hands of the voters.
