This concert will feature Linda Aider-ma- n offering a wide variety of music on several styles of harps. Harps, in one form or another, are one of the oldest instruments known to man. Their unique qualities and tone endear them to the ear. They have a peaceful way of soothing the soul. These are the qualities that attracted Linda when her mother insisted that she choose an instrument to learn. Of course it probably helped that Linda always wanted to learn how to play the harp. She began her study under the tutelage of Dorothy Victor when she was 9 years old and played for 6 years, then stopped all together. She did not play again until her thoughtful husband, Terry, surprised her with a beautiful pedal harp, right after moving to Kanab and opening a photography business, 22 years ago.- Linda has since returned to Dorothy for an occasional lesson, and has had the opportunity to keep her skills current by playing with Kanabs ownSymphony of the Canyons." Three years ago, Linda and - Terry purchased the Center The show will begin at 7:30 Street Gallery in Kanab to show- p.m. There will be a donation of case Terrys photographic works, $2 at the door with all proceeds the art work of their daughter, to go toward the purchase of - Mindy Alderman, and the art new books for the library. Already doing matting and framing at their original business, Terrys Camera Trading Co., it fit right in with the Gallery. Two years ago, Linda began to realize the need for a music store in Kanab. Folk instruments, specializing in harps, were added along with music supplies and sheet music, and the business' name was changed to Center Street Gallery & Music. Linda and Terry feel they have filled a need in the community and are thankful for the patronage of those who have come in to see what they offer. At the time she brought in the line of folk harps to sell in her store, Linda began playing the lever and lap harps. She applied the skills she had learned on the large pedal harp and all three will be present at the library concert. The music she has chosen is suited to the individual instruments. Celtic on the lap harp, folk on the lever harp and more traditional on the pedal harp. Her rather eclectic interest music styles will be evident, as she will also offer a few songs accompanying hersel ? jn guitar. Linda will also be joined by one ofherharp students, Joy Moffat, who will play a piece for your listening pleasure. Look whos 80!
