Kanab opened up the week with a road outing against the Millard Eagles. Due to the troubled weather the Cowboys have endured all season long, the game was moved from Fillmore to Delta. Coach Mike Walker was serving out his one game suspension following an ejection at the Beaver game. Millard jumped on the sticks in the first inning, scoring three runs on three hits to lead The Eagles added one more in the second and led 0 after two. Kanab couldnt seem to find a way to hit the Millard pitcher, who was nothing different than they had seen ail season. Kanab finally got on the board in the fourth. The first two batters were hit and the next one reached on an error. The Cowboys had the bases jammed with no outs. But a pick off move and a ground out later, the Cowboys still had not scored and were now faced with two outs. Josh Blasdeil came up big with a single, scoring two runners. Charles Hammon carded an 81 for a first place finish. Kyle Brunner stroked an 87 for fourth place. Clint Daly and Dillon Quinn had an 88 and a , 93 respectively. Kanab dominated, winning with a 349 score. Beaver placed second with a 366 and North Sevier came in third with a 387. Kanab successfully defended their region crown defeating their archrival Beaver by a whopping 46 strokes. The team travels to Salt Lake for the state tournament next Wednesday, May 12.
