Show Social SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS WEDNESDAY BUY 5. 1999 Robert Medley Johnson (Rob) will return home on Wednesday, May 5, after serving a two year mission in the Baltimore Maryland mission. He will be reporting on Sunday, May 9 in the Kanab 5th Ward Sacrament meeting at 2:45 p.m. in the Kanab Stake Center. ClarksonVannoy to wed Rob is the son of Dick Johnson John Ryan Clarkson, son of Dale and Patsy Clarkson of Kanab and Chelsea Kristine Vannoy, daughter of Kelly Vannoy and Kristine Stefano of and Eura Lee and Ralph Riggs. Fruit Height, Utah will be sealed for Time and All Eternity on Friday, May 7, He is the grandson of Calvin and Anna Johnson. The folloving evening, Saturday, May 8, 1999 the newly married couple will receive guests at a reception from 9 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express, 800 E. Hwy 89 in Kanab. Their parents and families invite friends and neighbors to attend these receptions. John is graduating Summa Cum Laude (GPA 3.90-4.- 0 ) from Dixie College on May 7th. He received academic scholarships and has earned his Associates Degree in Accounting in one year. John sewed as a missionary following graduation from Kanab High School in May 1995, in the New Zealand, Saints. He Wellington Mission, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da-y returned November 1 7, 1997 and began school at Dixie College in January of 1 998. He enjoyed working during the summer for the Heaton Family of St George at the Bar Ten Ranch. While he was at Kanab High School, John was an outstanding student as well as athlete, lettering in four sports. He is remembered for his speed as a wide receiver on the Kanab High Schools state championship football team football team. He was a high percentage hitter and was named to the on the schools baseball team. They took second in the state play-off-s and John was selected as an all star baseball layer from the Southern Utah Region. He was also chosen Most Valuable Player in the Southern Utah Region. John earned the Eagle Rank in Scouting, earned his Duty To God Award, and has served in varbus church leadership positions, including Seminary Council, where he graduated as a four year student. Chelsea, bom in Logan, Utah, grew up in Fruit Height, and graduated from Davis High School in 1998 with high honors. She is just finishing her first year in General Education at Dixie College, where she is on an academic scholarship. She writes for the college newspaper, the Dixie Sun. She also works part-tim- e at her uncles Little Caesar Pizza place. Chelsea was very active in sports and received academic school During high in volleyball. She is a scholar, a historian, a writer, a photographer; loves playing the piano and spending time with her family. Chelsea is a hard worker and loves to achieve. She has been very active in the LDS Church, serving in many leadership positions. She received her Young Womanhood Award prior to graduating from high school. She is currently serving as a Relief Society Teacher in her Student Ward in St. George. The couple plans to live in St. George and continue their work and education. Chelsea will finish at Dixie College, however, John will be registered in the Accounting Program of Southern Utah University of Cedar City-S- t. George Division and will be working at Conduit Repair Service and & C. Accounting Firm in St. George.
