The school and the PTA are so appreciative of those volunteers and the work that they do. class-room- s, To show our appreciation, the PTA has decided to recognize a different volunteer each month and say, Thank you for all that they do for our school and our children. Red Ribbon Week at Valley Elementary By Myma Cox Red Ribbon Week at Valley Elementary started off with a big bang. The ribbons of red and purple were reminders that all must preventdrugs and violence in every way possible. Learning disabilities, deaf individuals and some with physical problems were brought to the attention of the students through life-siz- the puppeteers. The teers volunEleanor Economou, Nita Hurley and Edna Anderson Taylor, performed through the puppets to bring their points across to the attentive audience. The theme for the week, It's hot to not was the slogan that every red ribboner wore as a reminder to stay away from drugs. Other art winners included: Hope Heaton and Pete Hoyt, second grade; Lindy Heaton, Chelcie Cox, Peter Bowman, third grade; Michael Maxwell, Melinda Bistline, fourth grade; siastically led by Lynette! Thank you, Lynette, for your many volunteer hours as our schools song leader! We would also like to thank the many other individuals who volunteer their time to enrich the education of our children! Our property department has purchased some lovely pieces of period furniture to dress the March familys home.
