It has been monitored by a number of other education systems with Peggy traveling and presenting her theories to other areas as well. The program involves target ing students who may have a learning disability or a behavioral problem, then making sure those students get more help in the classroom. Students who may be having home troubles may be helped also. Even a child who has missed a few weeks of school because of chicken pox can be considered a special need student. Teaching assistants meet with Mrs. Whittwer each week to discuss which students are having problems and who may need assistance. Keeping the child in the classroom appears to work better than pulling the student out on a basis. Whittwer earned her teaching degree from Southern Utah University in 1991, and plans on earning her masters degree from there as well. Having four children of her own she knows the value of education. The Southern Utah News congratulates Peggy Whittwer, and applauds what she is doing for the student who needs a little more time and a lot more cne-on-on- e Tbnrs.Noy. 7 Noon 9:30-1 :30 Chamber of Commerce -- Drivers Licence Examiner Wtfili iiVnV Toes.
