Hance declared that the signatures on petitions submitted February 14 were void. CARE responded by replacing some of the signatures in question, and them to the County. The recall bid was targeted to On March 24, 1995, a narcotic search warrant was served in the Kanab City area at 465 W. Johnson, the residence of Jerry and Ruth Tait. The search warrant was issued as a result of a h investigation by the Kane County Narcotic Strike Force, and served by the Strike Force with assistance from officers of the Kanab City Police Defour-mont- partment, the Kane County Sheriffs Department and B.L.M. Law Enforcement personnel. Arrested were Ruth Louise Tait, 38, her husband, Jerry Tait, 35, Christian McCune, 23, and a 17 year old juvenile. Both Taits and the juvenile were arrested and charged with alleged distribution ofcontrolled substance, methamphetamine, a second degree felony, alleged cultivationproduction of a controlled substance, marijuana, a third degree felony, and alleged possession of paraphernalia, a Class B misdemeanor. The juvenile was also charged with alleged possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor, and Ruth and Jerry Tait with alleged contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a Class B misdemeanor. If the Taits are found guilty of the alleged charges, both felony counts could be enhanced one degree, making them first and second degree felonies, for utilizing a juvenile in the commission of the distribution and cultivation. Christian McCune has been initially charged with alleged possessionconsumption ofa controlled substance, marijuana. The officers recovered what is suspected to be methamphet- amine, cocaine, marijuana, scales, miscellaneous pieces of paraphernalia utilized to smoke the substances, and a suspected marijuana grown operation from the residences.
