The new Lieutenant is assigned to the 5th ALC Augmentation Squadron (Reserve), a Hill AFB, as a Management Analysis LT. COL. The promotion came as no surprise to him, nor to his Commander, Lt. Colonel Joseph M. Hess, who indicated that as Commander of the 5th ALC, it is a real pleasure for me to swear in Lt. Opperman as he becomes the first officer to be commissioned under the Airman Commissioning program in different capacities at March AFB, Ca., and at the Western Air Force Reserve Region, then located at Hamilton AFB, Calif. A former native of Wyoming, Lt. Opperman has completed a B.S. degree in business management from BYU, and is presently pursuing an Advanced Degree in Law and Accounting. A civilian 28 days of the month, he is employed as the manager of a realty company in Sunset. Married to the former Kathryn Hareman, the Lieutenant, his wife, and their three children, David, age 5, Rachel, 3, and Lee, 4 months, reside in Roy. Active in church activities, this unit. Lieutenant Opperman has been with the unit since October 1972, but was originally with the 945th Group Military Airlift (presently the 508th Tactical Fighter Group). While on active duty with the U.S. Navy, prior to his reserve assignments, he served on board the nuclear submarine, Swordfish and was also assigned in Vietnam with Assault Craft Division 13. In 1968, he was designated the Enlisted Man of the Month for the Salt Lake Region, while serving with the USNR Surface Division in Provo, Utah. Mr. Ware was born May 31, 1945, in Minatare, Neb., a son of Everett Elvin and Virginia Wombaker Ware. On July 7, 1967, he married Carolyn Chappell in the Logan LDS Temple. He had been owner and manager of the Electric and Wiring Rebuilders Co. of Ogden. He had also worked at the Boeing Co., and had been 31, of 2135 W. 5800 S., Hospital in of complications Ogden following childbirth. She was bom July 27, 1935, in Oak City, Utah, a daughter of Allen and Virginia Lyman McKay-De- e Lovell. She had lived the past 10 years in Syracuse. Prior to moving to Syracuse, she had lived 11 years in Sunset. She was a member of the Syracuse 2nd LDS Ward and a Relief Society visiting teacher. She was the North Davis Stake Cub Scout leader and formerly the Sunset 5th Ward Primary president. Surviving are her husband of Syracuse; five sons and three daughters, Jeffrey Allen Swallow, serving an LDS mission in Los Angeles, OUTBOUND Calif.; 1-O-GDEN -- served a Northern British LDS mission from 1965 to 1967 and had been scoutmaster in the Roy 7th Ward, a Sunday School teacher and priest quorum advisor and teacher in the Roy 12th Ward. He had played city league softball for the Dover Elevator team. Surviving are his widow of Roy; two sons and two daughters, William Martin Lois Lovell Swallow ROAD SYRACUSE - Mrs. Lois Lovell Swallow, 40, of 1826 W. 2350 S., died Friday at the OUTBOUND family enjoy camping and watching him participate in Skeet and trap shooting. Funeral services were held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Syracuse Stake Center, with Bishop Sheldon Child of the Syracuse 2nd Ward officiating. Friends may call at Lindquist Clearfield Morturay, 1050 S.
