Retiring, after years of work, calls for a celebration, and thats what Merlin and Lorene Jensen did by taking an eight week trip traveling throughout our fair country. They visited 42 states and two Canadian Provinces. They were particularly interested in the historical places in the country. Kelly and Ellen Rees have been seeing the eastern part of the country the past week. They spent most of their time in the Washington D.C. area and attended a session at the D.C. They went up into Lapland and the Arctic have spent a week in Dorothy Lillian Lunt, Southern Utah, including Tomlinson, Marilyn Zions and Bryce National Whinham, Jean Harris, Parks, and the Grand Canyon Helen Hubbard, Lynile Circle and visited many in Arizona. George F. Young, a brother of Harold Young of Roy, died recently in El Monte, Calif He had lived in Box Elder County before moving to California. Mr. find Mrs. Art Melito have a baby daughter, born June 25. They now have a boy and a girl in their family. Mrs. Melito is the former Debbie Pingree, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Pingree. The Jfearthside, in Eden, was the setting on Thursday of last week for the annual Buhler, and Bobbie Thomas. Mr. and Mrs. Jed Mr. and Mrs. Larkin Patterson, and Mr. and Mrs. Aldus Johnson spent several days the latter part of last month at the Johnsons cabin near Yellowstone Park. Mr. and Mrs. Meloy Hales had a baby boy on June 27. Touring Finland by bus with 22 family members was the highlight of a trip taken by Henry and Mae Matis. Meeting together in Helsinki for the tour w ere all of their children and some of their Wad-doup- grandchildren, including places in Finland, where they had lived when Mr. Matis served as the first LDS Mission President in Finland. They also visited Mr. Matis' relatives on his fathers side who live in Hitajovari, Finland and with relatives on his mothers side in Ylistaro. One of the highlights of the week was a surprise dinner given for Mr. Matis by his children on the occasion of his 71st birthday. The dinner had been arranged ahead of time and was served by some of the members of the LDS Church there. Following the Jim and Kerry Maw and children have been gone for ten days.
