Show 11 News Five County RSVP awarded part of $3 million grant SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS WEDNESDAY AUGUST 6, 2003 The Corporation for National and Community Service recently announced the award of a grant to the Five County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program. A portion of $3 million awarded to each of 80 Senior Service Corps programs, including the Five County RSVP, is designated to support the volunteer efforts of senior men and women involved in meaningful volunteer service in Washington, Iron, Beaver, Garfield and Kane Counties. The Five County RSVP grant is awarded for the purpose of recruiting, training and placing more than 150 new volunteers in assignments relating to the Southwest Utah Regional Citizen Corps Council and the Five County Reentry Council. The SW Utah Regional Citizen Corps Council is organized to address issues relating to emergency preparedness and disaster management.
