Show 12B Sun Advocate, Price, Utah Wednesday, December 23, 1981 weddings club notes Helper Women's Club Carbon Emery Can Chasers The Helper Womens Club held its annual Christmas party Dec. 17 at the Helper Civic Auditorium which is gaily decorated with Christmas trees. President Elizabeth Huff presided at a short business meeting Maxine Murphy offered a beautiful Christmas prayer. Etta Diamanti presented a past presidents pin to Hilma Birch. A Christmas card from Ann Poole, district president, was acknowledged. A case of cranberry sauce will be given to the Senior Citizens organization for their annual Christmas dinner. Jaycees of Price have asked the club to help with their annual Christmas party for needy children. The club decided to sponsor 30 children. A delicious dinner was enjoyed by everyone. The tables were decorated with Christmas ornaments. A gift exchange was held. Mr. and Mrs. Santa passed the gifts. Committee in charge was Hilma Birch, Susan Moore, Bessie Bonto, Ann Bonacci, Etta Diamanti, Elizabeth Huff and Viola Ori. The clubs next meeting will be the third Thursday in January. The Carbon Emery Can Chasers jackpot barrel racing association held their second annual awards banquet Dec. 15 at the Husky House dining room. The evening began with CECC members and their guests eating dinner. The awards program followed. The 1981 officers Barbara Lott, Elsie Trapp, Debbie were awarded Sorenson and Diana Holt necklaces for the work they put into the club this last season. The results of the 1982 election were announced: Roanna Olsen, Cleveland, president; Barbara Lott, Elmo, vice president; Jerri Pollock, Price, secretary; and Donna Hatch, Cleveland, treasurer. The highlight of the evening was the awarding of the championship saddles to the top barrel racer in each division of the CECC jackpots during the 1981 season. The second place winners received trophy saddle-pad- s and the third place winners were awarded horse quirts. For the open division, Jerri Pollock of Price won the saddle with Barbara Lott, Elmo, taking second and Melanie Jaramillo, Price, third. In the novice division, the saddle was won by Elsie Trapp, Ferron; second place was Debbie Sorenson, Wellington; and third place was Lorna Jensen, Elmo. The futurity saddle was won by Barbara Lott, Elmo; second was Marie Eardley, Price; and Diana Holt of Castle Dale won third. The CECC also had two divisions with the top winners getting personalized breast collars. The open division was won by Elsie Trapp, Ferron, with Jerri Pollock taking second and Barbara Lott third. The futurity division was won by Debbie Sorenson, Wellington; Diana Holt, second, and Shauntelle Trapp, Ferron, third. The evening was rounded off with a special thanks to Zacs Western Wear. . Carbon Salon 8 & 40 The La Salle dining room was the setting for the Carbon Salon 8 & 40 annual Christmas party. After dinner and a social hour, the 24 ladies present exchanged gifts and opened them. Mae Silliman took several pictures of the group during the evening. Each member gave a donation to be sent to the Cystic Fibrosis Fund. The door prize was won by Merlene Hilton. The groups next meeting will be Feb. 9. Darin King Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Powell, Green River, announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Julie, to Darin King, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean King, Green River. The couple will be married Saturday, Dec. 26, at the Green River LDS Church. An open house will follow the ceremony from 8 to 10 p.m. at the church. The prospective bride is a senior at Green River High School where she has been active in cheerleading, the drill team and student government. The prospective groom, also a senior at Green River High School, has been active in football and basketball.
