Local watercolorist Cliff Bergera joins CEUs art faculty in offering beginning and inwater color painting. termediate Jim Young teaches beginning and advanced ceramics, while Christa Kaminski offers basic hand lettering for credit or hours. Price banker Michael Milovich joined CEUs business department faculty winter quarter and will instruct real estate finance. The class will highlight real estate non-cred- federal credit, it assistance, financing single and multiple family dwellings, industrial and agricultural properties, and government involvement and real estate finance. Other business classes include beginning and advanced shorthand, shorthand speed building, beginning and advanced and production typewriting typewriting. Introduction to computer science will be taught again this quarter by Jon Anast. Terminology and operation of high speed computers and programming will be stressed k in the class. English 102 and 108 are included. Vaun Waddell will teach the 102 course, developing skills in research and analysis, while 108 is taught by Larry Severeid to improve communication skills and solution of writing problems in everyday working situations, including department memos, teach the Spanish class during the day, while Mara Kheyfets will instruct Russian in the evenings. Mining classes offered winter term include mining technology, mine methods, mine ventilation, mine gasses and fire protection, supervisory training, diesel engine troubleshooting, foremanfireboss preparation and mine maintenance mechanical. Barry Bryner will again teach beginning and advanced guitar in the music department. The class can be taken for credit or non-cred- it. Power volleyball is one of two new P.E. classes added. Taught by Don Vetter, it introduces aggressive beginners and higher level players to competitive volleyball. The class is a jumping-of- f for tournaments point throughout the Intermountain West. Skiing 146 program, is a special packaged taught by Richard Polster and Park West ski instructors, wherein a student receives five day ski passes at Park West Ski Resort, two hours of beginning or intermediate instruction on the slopes, plus transportation to and from the ski resort in the new Eagle bus. Dates of the program are Jan. 16 and 30, Feb. 20 and March 13 and 20. Minimum age is nine-wee- mine reports and technical engineering reports. Spanish 101 and Russian 101 are the two language classes offered this quarter. Katie Thompson will Science classes offered include training, introduction to chemistry, principles of biology, philosophy through literature, methods of effective parenting, human relations in business and industry, and interdisciplinary study of women. Two theater arts classes include The Silent Years, a review of the history of film, focusing on the silent era, and theater movement, a study of the fundamental types of movement including Mime, im air-grou- provisation and basic dance forms used in musical theater. No previous dance experience is required. Vocational classes offered include auto mechanics for women, drafting, welding theory and practice and basic industrial hydraulics. A special class offered winter quarter is early morning aerobics danceexercise taught by Diana Root from 6:30 to non-cred- 7:30 it a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Others include flat pattern construction, designing and altering patterns to fit every figure; nutrition and weight control, the ideal weight program stressing habits, and modifying eating balanced nutritionally meals, and exercise; creative k machine embroidery, a course designed to show other uses of the sewing maching including crewel embroidery, embroidering knits, quilting, organdy and five-wee- shadow applique and communication, in- monogramming; and gymnastics for boys and girls ages 3 to 18 years. The newest class offered is basic manual structing students in fingerspelling and sign language of the deaf. CEUs DCE in Emery County offers introduction and advanced ceramics, elementary and ad- vanced shorthand shorthand, review and dictation, shorthand speed building and intermediate and advanced typewriting. Registration for evening school is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 4, 5 and 6 in the admissions and records office in the main building. A special gymnastics registration will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, in the main building.
