SALT favorite, Handels Messiah, will be presented tonight (Thursday) at 7:30 p.m. in the Assembly Hall on Temple Square. The Ralph Woodward Chorale - and orchestra join this years soloists Elaine Carr Brewster, soprano; Martha F. West, alto; David Warner, tenor; and Clayne Robinson, bass. The chorus will be accompanied by a orchestra. One of the highlights of the ongoing seasonal concert series, this version of the Messiah will be performed with four choruses in which the audience is being encouraged to bring their own music and participate. Tickets are not required for the concert, which is free of charge ahd sponsored by the LDS church. Admission is limited to those eight years of age and older. No No perishables, WJCjT WMUimiO SALT LAKE. The Mormon Youth Symphony and Chorus will offer three opportunities for the public to enjoy the music and festivity of the Christmas season. The annual Christmas concerts are scheduled for Friday, Dec. 2, and Saturday, Dec. 3. The concerts will begin each evening at 8 p.m. in the Tabernacle on Temple Square. Doors open at 7. The Mormon Youth Symphony and Chorus will also provide to the public an opportunity to sing along in its popular "Christmas Sing-in- " Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m., also in the Tabernacle. All three concerts are free and seating will be on a first-comd basis. There is no age restriction for the Sing-in- , but the 3 Dec. concerts in the Tabernacle are limited to those age eight and older. The program includes "Processional," "Christmas in the Air" 2 "A Rockin (Dec. only), Christmas" (Dec. 3 only), "There Shall A Star From Jacob," "Sleigh Ride," "Lullaby For Christmas," Let it Snow," Bonita Pinata" and "Carol of the Bells. Completing the program will be "Feliz Navidad," "The First Noel," "Glory to God," Russian Candle Twas the Night Before Carol, "A Christmas Christmas," Festival," by Leroy Anderson, "Fum, Fum, Fum" (sic), 'White Christmas," "And the Glory of the Lord" and ."Hallelujah." At the Dec. 14 Sing-in- , lyrics to the Christmas songs performed that evening will be provided to those in attendance. The Mormon Youth Christmas concerts have grown steadily in first-serve- 2-- popularity in the recent past, and again this year a capacity audience is anticipated. Those wishing to secure good seating are advised to arrive early. The Mormon Youth Symphony and Chorus is comprised of 450 musicians from northern Utah who volunteer their time mil talents for rehearsals and S' concert appearances yearly. 45-pl- purchase is necessary.
