Ive been so domestic lately Im beginning to bore myself. The real Ethel, you see, is so that such moods always surprise me. But just the same have to live with And now I am. Turkey and even a serving of cranberry sauce went on each plate and it was all finished off with a splat of cold gravy over the potatoes and - dressing. I am and I ...lam. . .who domestic or not. that person Yes, everything was cold and the potatoes were solid, but with a spoon I put them where I wanted them, pushed a dent into them for cold gravy and actually those dozen plates looked very nice there on my dining room table. Even the cranberry, which we think of as being cold, is not destroyed by the process. And it makes a hero out ofyou. I recall one evening a year or so ago when company came at dinner time, instead of frantically wondering "What in the world can I feed them?" 1 calmly took four of those dinners from my freezer and we had a banquet. It was delightful We ate and then sat around the fireplace sipping our tea and talking. Good talking, too. I refrigerated all the leftovers so that they were okay and went to bed that night content, because I also knew what Ethel was going to do with all those leftovers. Sunday morning just as calmly as anything, I put out a dozen picnic (plastic) plates on my dining room table and then began emptying the refrigerator. Try it, you wont be disappointed and your family will bless you for not giving them turkey in a dozen different forms just trying to use it all up. Ethel, how I wish you would have written this column last week. You would have saved me, my family and guests from a lot of boredom. Jo, the typesetter First I took the mashed potatoes and divided them into nice servings on those 12 plates and put the potato dish in the dishwasher.
