The Ladies Auxiliary of the Magna-Garfiel- d VFW Post 7398 will celebrate the 40th Anniversary of its founding Saturday with special recognition of charter members and past presidents. Festivities get underway at will 7:30 p.m. at the Post Home, 9057 West 2700 South, with food, fun and reminiscing, and later in the evening there will be a live band for dancing. According to Darlene Burke, who is spearheading the activity, the organization was chartered on 1948. 7, April. FULL SERVICE Seniors To Visit Huntsville Monastery MAGNA. Registrations are now being taken for a trip to the Huntsville Monastery to be made by members of the Magna Senior citizen Center on May 9th. According to Jean Orton, site manager, the bus will leave the center at 9 a.m. and return by 3 p.m. Cost of transportation will be $1.50 per person, plus the cost of a meal at the Rainbow Gardens where they will order from the njenu. Mrs. Orton noted that the buses hold only 40 people, and reservations will be taken on a first come first served basis. Every Wednesday the women went to the hospital and danced with the patients as part of their physical therapy, and for those who were unable to dance they provided a listening ear for all their dreams and hopes, frustrations. As with most things that have been around for 40 years, some history has been lost in the sands of time. So this year the women in charge of the auxiliary are looking for lost pieces of history in order to fill in the blanks. They are asking anyone who was ever involved in the VFW Auxiliary to help them find the missing information, and to come to the party Saturday. They would like names of past presidents, pictures that may have been taken of group or individual activities, newspaper clippings etc. that pertain to the service group.
