Troy Long is another Alta grad thats been seeing some action as a sophomore, playing in the defensive 180 pounder, secondary. The was a four sport athlete at Alta, participating in baseketball, football, baseball and track. In 1985 he was one of only two freshmen to letter on the varsity squad. A third sophomore from Alta is 185 pound wide Chuck Cutler, a receiver. At Alta he lettered football, basketball and track and was named to several squads. Senior Jeff Wilcox, 184, has been called BYUs coach on the field. The Midvale product, leads the team in interceptions with seven, more than three times as many as any other player. At Hillcrest, Wilcox quarterbacked the Husky squad and played at that position on the BYU JVs before being switched over to defensive back in 58 6-- THURSDAY GAMES South 70, Granger 64 Murray 64, Mountain Crest 58 remembered for his efforts in basketball and baseball, as well as football, last year for the Bengals, is a 190 pound linebacker for the Cougars. Cottonwoods Dave Lloyd sank 1 of 2 free throws to make it 10-but Aaron Crookston, 67 center, muscled one in to make it 12-- Dave Lloyd was fouled and made one of two and then made three straight shots to bring the score to 12-Crookston scored 5 straight points to put the Beetdiggers ahead 17-- but in the last three minutes Shane Henschen hit 3 and Derreck Spencer and Lloyd also made baskets, while Jordan was making only 5 points, to bring the score at the quarter to Jordan. Jordan started strong in the second quarter and led when Pond was called with his third personal and Jordan was hit with a technical. Brad Sorensen missed the free throw on the foul but Lloyd recovered and scored. Kokkola made one of 2 free throws but Kimball muscled up an inside bucket to give the Colts a lead. Pond hit a jumper and Rusty Eyre added a hoop to bring Jordan within with just over a minute left.
