The event will be held at the Taylorsville Recreation Center, 4731 So. Redwood Rd., from 3 until 6 p.m. and will be hosted by her children. She was born in Hyrum, Utah, on April 22, 1905 to Emery Thirkill and Clara Cecelia Jensen Mitton. On Feb. 16, 1929, at the age of she married John Stetwenty-fouwart Thompson in Salt Lake. He has since died. Vondella spent her early life in Salt Lake. In 1946 she and her husband moved to San Antonio, Texas, and in 1962 they returned to Utah. She has spent 24 years working for the federal government, with 14 years spent at Kelly Air Force Base in Texas and ten years at Hill AFB in Utah. Vondella has been a member of several organizations including Federal Womens club, Business and Professional Womens club, where she served as a delegate to the national convention in 1966 in Atlanta, Georgia. She was a member of the International Toastmistress club and is currently active in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneer and AARP. While living in the Ogden area she was active in the Golden Hour Center and is now active in the Murray Heritage Center. She has done volunteer work with various organizations and her hobbies include oil painting, ceramics, playing the ukelele and traveling. She has been to almost every state in the United States, as well as Canada, Mexico, Israel. She spent six weeks Mission For Marchant Floyd, Grace Nielsen Feted On Anniversary Floyd L. and Grace E. Wendel Nielsen will be honored on their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception. The event will be held Saturday, April 20th at the Chateau Reception Center, 1980 W. 3500 South, from 3 until 5 p.m. Their daughters, Dixie Lynn Breden of Sunset and Noreen Chapman of West Jordan, will host the event. Floyd and Grace were married in Provo on April 16, 1935, and later had their marriage solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple. They have lived all their married lives in Magna and Garfield. Floyd takes an active part in the Magna Senior Citizens Center since his retirement in 1977 from Kenne-co- tt ore haulage where he worked for 41 years. Grace worked for . the Granite School District for 19 years in the central kitchen. In addition to their daughters they have six grandchildren and ten Linda Marchant, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Marchant, Midvale, has been called to an LDS mission in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and will be the speaker at a farewell meeting in the Midvale 8th ward, 642 Jackson, at 3:20 p.m. on Sunday, April 21.
