If you didnt, you missed out, because we WON! ! The game was extremely exciting due to the narrow victory and high spirits. And the high spirits were due to the tremendous performances of our male AWESOME cheerleaders, a halftime march by the outstanding Chirons, the unconventional Generic Club members and our entertaining pep band was there. The entire team played well, while Jason Almond, Dave Houtz and Ryan Brown had an exceptional game. In the heat of the moment, the game ended with the removal of the basketball net. Good job, men. Yes, the men had a great game, but our Warrior ladies have had a fantastic season, thus far. Our ladies havent been to state since the first opened, but with year starters Lisa Dali, Lori Dali, Lisa Oliphant, Shanna Flaughtery and Vida Powell, plus a new coach from Eisenhower, Sandra Catten, they already have an assured place to play in the state tournament (March . This is a tough team with a lot of guts. For example: after being injured in the West Jordan game, Lori Dali played two more games the next week with bruised kidneys. What dedication. "Fiddler on the Roof was a huge success. The entire cast displayed a wonderful production. The performances of John Holmgren as Tevye and Shanna Peterson as Golda were certainly awardwinning. The special effects, beautiful voices and admirable acting resulted in a classy musical. Congratulations to the cast, crew, chorus, orchestra and production staff. An exciting event which student body looks forward to is the state hockey finals. And our Taylorsville team never seems to let us down. Whether it be state finals or state quarterfinals, we always seem to make it that far (ditto in baseball). Were proud of our hockey team and appreciate their valiant distribution of energy in that sport. Although the season has ended it would not be proper if I didnt congratulate the entire team and key players. Taking fifth was not explace in division, pected to do as well, or go as far as they did ( third in state) . Lance Knight was the star of the playoff games. With an average of four goals a game, he scored the winning goal in sudden death overtime in the game against East. Lance also is the assistant captain of the 1985 hockey team. Captain Scott Hoyt and little brother Clark Hoyt were great assets to the team, as was Rick Gerhing. Wade Jensen, Tom Dennison and Brock Hudson contributed their share of hard work, while Terry James, Mike Jendricca, Craig Goeritz, Ted Dut-chand Tom Scheider proved their skating abilities. Brian Gerber, Brian Accord and goalie Todd Willburger were outstanding in the defensive area. This years hockey team has given a revitalized school spirit.
