Show beautiful spirit-fille- d Christmas message. I highly commended my fellow faculty members and thanked them for their time and concern for the students. I truly had an uplifltng experience with the students of Cyprus high; they are talented young people. Unfortunately, as I was driving home, a few shadows crept over the glow of the days events. Mrs. Patterson is retiring (as of Jan. 1) after serving 16 years in the County Library System. Born in Danville, Va., she came to Magna from New Jersey in 1961 when her husband was transferred by the government to the Tooele Ordnance Depot. Although she worked in libraries during her high school years and to pay her way through college, her original intent was to go into the field of nursing. She obtained a degree in nursing from William and Mary, but found that she liked library work better. In December, 1967, Mrs. Patterson went to work in the Magna Library when Grace Ottinger, who was librarian then, took a leave of absence to care for her ailing husband. However, the two months extended into 16 years, with niM spent as childrens, librarian at Magna, three at Granger and the balance when she became head librarian here in 1979. The new interim librarian, Mrs. Milius followed in Mrs. Pattersons footsteps by becoming childrens librarian at Granger when she came to Magna. She will fill the vacancy h when she here until plans to take a maternity leave. A native of Ukiah, Calif., the former Vivian Williams studied at BYU and worked at the reference library, in addition to working on a project at Provo high school with the library collection. She also worked as a clerk and a page in the John Steinbeck Library in Salinas, Calif. Married to Steve Milius, she lives in Kearns.
