Initiating these projects would put many people back to work and the costs involved, both in the building and in the bond expense, are very favorable at this time. These factors have borne themselves out as projected and one additional positive point has been realized. Utah is one of only seven states in the nation that have the ability to generate the ultimate in bond ratings This will Plus .J I (10 than as finance costs. The other states that enjoy this AAA rating are Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina, New Jersey, Missouri and Maryland. These ratings are determined by two major rating agencies, Moodys and Standard and Poor, both on Wall Street in New York. Ability to repay, of course, is the criteria. The repayment of these bonds is strung out for several years so the economic condition of each state is examined very carefully, along with past records. Utah has a lot of sound growth in its future, its tax system as well as its business climate is broad based and both the executive branch and the Legislature have worked together in a timely manner to offset economic problems. We are fortunate to have these positive advantages, especially at this time when other economic news is not so encouraging. I hope Utah will always be conservative and prudent in its financial decisions. long-rang- TAYLORS BIKE SHOP j GRANGER. Dan L. Harmon has been installed as bishop of Jordan North 5th ward.
