The boys had to fight off a stiff challenge from Alta, which scored heavily with second place finishes, while the Husky girls won easily in the final preparation for the state meet tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday at Weber State. Because of Hillcrest, Kearns and Taylorsvilles hopes rested primarily with a few individuals. As it turned out, each school had one champ in the girls meet while the Warriors added a second titlist in boys competition. Taylorsvilles Camille Riccardi settled for second in her best event, the shot put (she won the state title last year), but still brought home gold with a first in the high hurdles, breaking the tape in Riccardi finished second to Altas Kim Nielsen in the shot put and third in the 300 intermediate hurdles.
