LYLE SIMMONS Funeral services were held on Saturday at 12 noon in the Lindquist Kaysville Mortuary Chapel for Lyle David Sim- mons. 68, of 683 North Main Street. Layton. Bishop Terry D. Snicdley officiated at the services. ' MR. SIMMONS, who was . , . owner and operator of Sim- mons Auto Repair Service in Layton, died on Wednesday, Dec. 17. 1980 at his home after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 14. 1912 in Layton, the son of David Barton and Elizabeth Ann Thorn-le- y Ruby Parker on Oct. 30. 1934 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. was married to William E. Van-Boeru- prelude and postlude music was played by Mrs. Carmen Dibble and Mrs. Patricia Sargent, playing a violin duet, accompanied bv Ruth Wood. E. and Alice Watt Layton. She Gailey on April 1, 1914 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She had lived in Layton and Kaysville for the past 66 years and attended Layton public schools. MRS. GAILEY was a mem16th Ward, had been active in Relief Society, holding both ward and stake positions. She had been a fair judge for the Utah State and Davis County fairs and also helped to start the Davis County Red Cross. She is survived by her husband of Kaysville; two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Genevieve) George, San Jose, Calif., and Mrs. Alice G. Telford, Kaysville; three grandchildren and five ber of the Kaysville ALSO SURVIVING are one brother, Stanley Layton, Bountiful; and one half-brothe- r, Norman Layton Brigham City; four sisters Mrs. Maude Layton Ririe, Alberta, Canada; Mrs. Sarah B. Layton Strong, Mrs. LeConte (Zipporah) Layton Stewart, both of Kaysville; and Mrs. Marie Layton Robins, Ogden; one half- - , SHE MARRIED Ivan Sessions Dec. 20, 1916 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Sept. 19, 1968. Mrs. Sessions lived in Kaysville until her marriage then moved to Chesterfield, Ida. She returned to Kaysville in 1944 and lived there until 1969. Mr. Bodily died on June 13. 1949. Following their marriage the couple made their home in Syracuse. Mrs. Bodily had been active in her church organizations, and at the time of her death, was a member of the Syracuse Fifth Ward. She had served as a Primary teacher, a genealogical worker and had been a Temple worker at the Salt Lake Temple. He was the original director of the Central Davis Sewer District; director of the Davis and Weber County Canal Company, and chairman of the Davis County Weed Control. An active member of the LDS Church, he served as high councilman for ten years and was a high priest group leader. He served in the MIA presidency, was the first bishop of the Kaysville 6th Ward, received his Master of Men award, and served an LDS mission to England. : : Mrs. Emma Elizabeth 1 1 Warren Dee and Martha Webb Barnes. He married Emily Rice Jan. 22, 1930 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a dairyman and farmer and a lifelong resident of Kaysville. He attended Davis High School and USU at Logan. He taught in the agricultural department at Davis High School. Dec. 22, 1980 at the Clearfield Nursing Center. MRS. BODILY was born July 19, 1886 in Bountiful, the daughter of John Thomas and Elizabeth Jane Wood Knighton. On Feb. 8, 1905, she was Layton. He married HE WAS employed as a fireman at Hill Air Force Base for years and since that time he has operated his business in Layton. He had spent his entire life in this community. He was educated in the schools of Davis County and attended Davis High School. Russell Hansen: an organ and piano duet, a medley of Mrs. Bodilys favorite songs, was played by RaNae Bodily and Karen Bodily; benediction was given by Betty Jo Witten-burand the grave in the Syracuse Cemetery was dedicated by Marcus B.
