He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a veteran of World War I and served with the Signal Corps. Surviving are his widow of The marriage was later Layton; two daughters, Ethel I. Services For Maxine Aste Lions Purcell. On Aug. 30, 1919 he married Rosilla Hays in Rock Island, Layton. She married Harold Edward Aste Sept. 9, 1950 in Pleasant View, Ut. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, May 28, 1952. He worked also as a rock mason. He was reared in Mendon, 111. and had lived in Layton since 1941. ALSO SURVIVING are three brothers and two sisters, Clifford A. Purcell, Fillmore, Utah; Ralph Purcell, Canyon City, Colo.; Kenneth Purcell, Artesia, Calif.; Nina Robertson, Bourbon, Mo.; Neva izations. She was the first woman deputy sheriff of Davis County and served as secretary to many state and local government officials prior to her work in the FAA. She is survived by her husband of Bountiful; sons, Kay D. Aste, Salt Lake City, and Harold D. Aste, San Carlos, Calif.; five grandchildren, one great-granddaughte- r; brothers, Marlin R. On April 2, 1948 she was married to Ben A. She had been a Re- lief Society secretary and a visiting teacher. fton ? J BERTHA B. ADAMS Mrs. Bertha Boylin Adams, 84, of Layton died Wednesday, June 9, 1982, at the Davis North Medical Center. SIIE WAS born June 6, 1898 in Farmington, Utah, a daughter of Charles and Zilpha Ackerman Boylin. On Sept. 29, 1920, she mar Bishops Counselor Scott Smedley of the Layton 4th Ward officiating. INTERMENT was in the Kaysville City Cemetery. Kaysville Mr. and Mrs. Roy W. Simmons received word from Jackson, Wyo. of the arrival of a granddaughter born May 14 to Mr. and Mrs. Bland Hoke. It is W. Roberts Service Set For Thursday Welden C. Roberts, 77, of Lane, Layton died Sunday, June 13, 1982, in a Salt Lake City Hospital of a 891 W. Weavers heart attack. HE WAS bom Jan. 30, 1905 in Frankburg, Alberta, Canada, a son of Walton Anthony and Olive Elizabeth Corbridge Roberts. On July 18, 1934 he married Mary LaVaun Briggs in the Logan LDS Temple. Logan. One brother and one sister preceeded him in death. Funeral services are under their first child and she weighed 6 lb. 8 oz. and is being named Elizabeth Ellison, after her mother and grandmother. Mrs. Hoke is the former Elizabeth Simmons of Kaysville. The other grandmother is Mrs. George Bland Hoke of Hightstown, New Jersey. 1 Mr. and Mrs. Boyd White-side- s and family vacationed in Southern California spending time in Anaheim and at Disneyland and places of interest in that area as well as time on the beach. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Page and family of Price were holiday weekend guests of both of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Max Sandall in Kaysville and his parents Mr. and Mrs. Orion Page in Layton. Dr. and Mrs. Mark Bitner and children of Omaha, Nebraska are visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Herndon in Kaysville and his parents Dr. and Mrs. Robert Bitner and family in Layton. They came to attend his brother Matt Bitners wedding to be held on June 22. A houseguest of Mrs. Elsie Heaton is Mrs. Wilma Schaer of Vacaville, Calif. She will be visiting for a few weeks and also spend .time with her. brother-RodneSchaer in Ogden. Mrs. Addie Marsden has been confined to the Davis North Medical Center in Layton undergoing treatment the past week. Mrs. Zelda Larsen of Milwaukee, Wise, is a houseguest of her sister, Mr. and Mrs. William R. Perkins. Paul Liston left Monday for Burma on a military assignment for three weeks. Paul is a Lt. Colonel in the Reserves and will be spending his time at the embassy at the Capitol of Rangoon. His stay will also in clude a week tour of the country. Ambassador and Mrs. Keith E. Nyborg of Finland are houseguests of Mr. and Mrs. Horace. Argyle. Mr. and Mrs. Argyle entertained at a dinner in their honor. They also visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Perkins. Miss Sandi Schroader, who is a student at Ricks College at Rexburg, Ida. and is a member of the Rick's Show Time Group just returned home from a tour of 15 Southern States where the group performed. Sandi is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schroader of Kaysville. Chadbourne traveled to American Falls, Ida. on Monday to attend the funeral service of their son and brother. Mr. Chadbourne was killed in an airplane accident in the southeastern part of Idaho on June 9, 1982. MR. CHADBOURNE was bom Jan. 9, 1941 in American Falls, Ida., the son of Charles and Jessie Chadbourne who have resided in Syracuse for a number of years. He was reared and educated in Rockland, Ida. and graduated from Rockland High School. He served in the U.S. Army Special Forces from 1960-6- 3 and was stationed in Okinawa. He moved to Ogden and was employed by the Ogden Equipment Co. and was a member of the Ogden Police Reserve. In 1975 he began working for the Utah Foam Co. in Salt Lake City. He returned to Heybum, Ida. in 1980 and operated a business known as the Mono-lith- e Engineering Corp. HE WAS a member of the LDS Church, vice president of the Idaho State Bowling Association and held membership in the Eagles and Elks Lodge. In addition to his parents of Syracuse he is survived by two brothers and two sisters, E.C. (Chuck) Chadbourne, Heybum, Ida.; Jimmie Chad-bourn- e, Syracuse; Mrs. Veon Henkel, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Gayla Sweeten, Syracuse.
