City health officials announced Wednesday they would resume enforcement of the ordinance, which was suspended last fall after a property owner challenged its constitutionality. The state attorney general’s office has since issued an opinion terming the law constitutional Under the ordinance, owners of property covered with weeds are issued warnings. If the weeds are not removed, the city may clean the property and assess costs against property owners. Any optimist should tell any pessimist how much more fun he’s having out of life. (Bobby) Baker in July, 1962. | The Delaware senator, an instigator of the recent investigation into Baker’s lucrative business activities, noted that Capitol architect J. George Stewart had informed him that the Senate restaurant did not cater the motel opening. The Senate restaurant is under the jurisdiction of the rules committee which conducted the Baker investigation. Stewart said the charges for Teamster Union lunches were paid in full Dec. 12, 1963, although the Teamsters had been billed for $4,248.93 on Aug. 1. He said the payment delay was caused by the refusal of the restaurant accounting office to furnish certain documents the Teamsters auditors said they needed. According to Williams, Stewart said the Teamster lunches were sponsored by 10 individual senators. He did not identify them.
