The Cougars won the seven inning opener 7-5 and routed the visitors 16-1 in the nine-inning nightcap. Nemelka’s home run spree came in the second game. He belted a four-bagger in thefifth inning, then came back in the next two innings with other hom- ers. Doug Wardell and Val Snow picked up the pitching victories. Gate receipts netted $265,283. Ervin Dennis rolled the high three game league series of the season at Regal Lanes recently in the Merry-Mix Up League. Erv put together games of 233, 258 and 235 for a big 726 scratch series. This is Ervin’s second 700 series of the year as he had previously rolled a 709 series.
