Show THURSDAY, APRIL16, 1964 Daily Herald 3 Named For Honors Alpine School District {To Have SummerSchool ByAcademy The Utah Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters will present three distinguished service awards to outstanding scholars at the spring meeting at Brigham Young University Friday, Apr. 17. Dr. Jay V. Beck, president of the Academy, announced the selection of Dr. WayneB. Hales, professor of physics and mathematics at BYU, and Dr. T. Earl Pardoe, professor emeritus of speech at BYU, asrecipients of the. awards. The late Dr. Calvin Fletcher, chairman of the Art Department at Utah State University for 40 years, will be awarded a posthumous honor in the field of arts and letters. The presentation of the awards will be at 8 p.m. following a fellowship dinner in the Joseph Smith Banquet Hall. Dr. Hales will receive his award in the field of physical science.
