Thats just what the Farmington LDS Stake play producers of Pinnochio" did, they expanded the cast to include more than 100. Not only are there more than 100 people in the cast, but the desire to perform is so great that four mornings a week at 6 a.m. the silence is broken by the strains of music coming from the Rock Chapel. A mother told of how Mrs. Delong a shy timid little boy to sing his lungs FARMINGTON SUNSET The fall session of the Sunset Utah conference convenes LDS Stakes semi-annu! al Saturday and Sunday, with meetings scheduled for adults, leaders, priesthood members and families. The special adult session begins Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Sunset LDS Stake Center. With Reactivation and Welfare as the theme, speakers will include Presidents Jerry D. Williamson and Paul H. Reid, as well as Regional Representative, Lawrence Welling. . A panel discussion will be conducted by President David H. Steele, followed by a special film. Sundays activities begin at 7:30 a.m. with a welfare meeting for ward and stake leaders by special invitaion, followed by a priesthood leadership session at 8:30 a.m. Both meetings will ' be held in the 2nd, 3rd and 7th LDS Ward Chflpcl Later that day the general session for all stake members and their families begins at 10 a.m. in the stake center, with music provided by the Seventh Ward Choir. Speakers include members of the stake presidency, Welling, John Holt and Robin Larsen. 1 Baptist Women Asked To Quilting Meetings BOUNTIFUL Ladies of the Grace Baptist Church invite all those interested in quilting to attend their meetings held every Wednesday from 9:30 to 12:30 at the home of Karen Nick, 424 North 1150 East, Bountiful, for ladies craft time. - The instruction offered will be for quilted pillow tops that combine several quilting techniques. just in response to the tender love and concern shown by the director. The purpose behind the play, which is not the Disney production, but the original play, is to give the people of Farmington Stake a cultural experience from the auditions through the production, said Mrs. Smith. Mrs. Delong has chosen to have the play performed on the stage at the Rock Chapel. Its a terrific stage, lower than the others. You can really communicate with the audience and can sit almost anywhere and hear and see, said Mrs. Smith. Estimates of the number of people involved in the entire production, including, cast, stage crew, scenery, lighting and other areas will exceed Organist To 200. Kaysville LDS Ward Plans Full Evening Of Talent Offerings KAYSVILLE The Kaysville 15th LDS Ward is busy getting ready for an evening full of stage talent. There will be singing, dancing, musical and dramatic readings, comedy skits, instrumentals and ensembles. The talent is drawn from within the ward. The date is set for Oct. 21 from 7 to 9 in the evening at the 15th Ward chapel on Fairfield Road. I Refreshments will be served. Another talent night is also being planned for those who have talent in arts and crafts. This Will be a collectors Night. f Lutheran Good Shepherd Auxiliary to Hold Luncheon LAYTON The Utah Unit of the Good Shephard Home Auxiliary will be holding its annual luncheon meeting on Friday, at noon at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 385 W. Golden Ave., Layton. I Mrs. Edna Nitz of Beaverton, Oregon, who is the president of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home Auxiliary will be the quest speaker and Will speak on the progress being made in the care of the mentally handicapped in our homes. ; Elections will be held. Open House Set At New LDS Temple Open house for the new LDS Jordan River Temple in South Jordan will continue through Oct. 31st. ; - The temple will be open to the public daily except Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. On Mondays the hours will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to allow church members to have their Family Home Evenings. The address of the temple is 1300 West, just north of 10400 South in South T Jordan. n Richard Myers, public communications director for the area, indicated that the public is welcome and is invited to attend during any of the days of the open house. Stakes in the Salt Lake County area have been requested to attend specific days to more evenly distribute the people attending. vS . t multi-regio- Invitations will be available throuth the various LDS wards and stakes in the area and the tours of the Jordan River Temple are open at no cost for those that wish to attend. Although the obtaining of invitations is suggested, the invitation or a ticket is not required for admittance. Myers also suggested that those attending be dressed as they would be for church worship services, that visitors are encouraged to attend as families and children under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. - We feel that the opening of the new Jordan River Temple is a noteworthy and meaningful event in the lives of the people in this area, Richard Myers stated.
