No gifts please. 60th ANNIVERSARY BIRTHS Jaxon Kade Funk Jessie and Kiley Funk are proud to announce the arrival of their new brother Jaxon. He was welcomed home to Ferron. He was bom on Feb. 2, 2001 at 3:17 p.m., in Payson at Mountain View Hospital. Jaxon weighed 7 lbs and was 20 inches long. Proud parents are Bret and Lori Funk. Jaxons grandparents are Tom and Geenie Baggs of Cleveland and Brent and Norma Funk of Ferron. Shirl C. and Bessie McArthur Shirl C. and Bessie McArthur will celebrate their 60th Wedding Anniversary on March 1 . They were married in a small ceremony in Price on March 1, 1941. The marriage was later solemnized in the Mahti Temple. They are the parents of six children and have 16 grandchildren. They have 18 Jesse Patrick Braun n. Patrick and Amber Braun are pleased to announce their new arrival, Jesse Patrick Braun. He was bom on Jan. 24, 2001. He weighed 8 lbs 7 oz. and was 21 12 inches long. His proud grandparents are Vance and Bobbi Brown formerly of Ferron now living in Kemmerer, Wyo. and Jerry and Linda Braun formerly of Ferron, now living in Mapleton. Jesses great grandparents are Dan and Lloyal Hunter of Price. They have accomplished many achievements during their life together. The most significant being the starting and operating of American Coal Company and building it into Emery Countys largest employer at the time. The McArthurs were instrumental in beginning five coal mines, from funding through operation. The anniversary will be celebrated by parents and children at a family dinner. March is National Nutrition Month March Is National Nutrition Month. How can children learn healthful eating at home? In a recent survey, researchers at Baylor College of Medicine found that during a period more than 42 percent of dinners eaten at home by a group of fourth--, fifth-- , and were eaten while watching television. Dr. Karen Cullen, a behavioral nutritionist with the Childrens Nutrition Research Center, said the findings are troubling because family meals are important for children from both a nutritional and developmental standpoint. The survey involved 287 children, who provided detailed records of what they ate and of their behaviors. How Can Children Learn Healthful Eating at Home? Involve children in meal preparation. Some experts say one key to getting kids to eat things is to encourage them to handle the food.
