Kaysville Mr. and Mrs. Ed Cole and Edna Petersen Retires Edwin (Bud) Halliday of . , IujUpI Nearing the end of a distinguished career as an educator, including 17 years as a counselor, Edna Petersen will be honored at a reception May 13 from 2:30 to 5 p.m. in the Clearfield High School faculty room. All who have known plan and the yearly followup should help increase the students motivation. Throughout her career, Mrs. Petersen has stressed the importance of students feeling good about themselves. Her ability to help students see humor in their own behavior and worked with Mrs. Petersen, including former and present students, are invited to attend. has helped many students EVERYONE WHO has known Edna has felt her dedication to the interests and needs of the students she has served. One major change she has witnessed has been in the in- crease of time a counselor spends motivating students who have little interest in school. Another change is in a much larger group of students being assigned to each counse-lo- r. One result of these changes is that It seems a counselor spends his time dousing fires instead of working to prevent fires from sparking. HER FINAL year has been spent in the monumental task of developing a career center at Clearfield High School which will be available so ev- ery student may, with the assistance of the parents and counselor, develop an individual education and career plan.
