Brewster succumbs at age 55 Dr. Blair Hayes Brewster, 55 of N., Lay ton, died Tuesday, May 13, 1986 at an Ogden nursing home of an anoxic brain injury. He was born March 5, 1931 in Salt Lake City, a son of Sheldon Riser and Edna Karren Brewster. He married Bonnie Bythew ay on June 22, 1951 in Salt Lake City. They were later divorced. He married Elizabeth Peterson Hancock on Sept. 20, 1975 in Las Vegas. Nev. He attended schools in Salt Lake City. He received a bachelor's degree in business education from the University of Utah in 1958. He earned a master's degree in educational psychology in 1961 and a 2847 E. 775 doctorate degree in educational administration in 1970, both from the University of Utah. He was a business teacher at LDS Business College in the summers of 1957 and 1958. He had been a business teacher at Granger High School from 1958-6He was a counselor at Valley Junior High School from 1960-6a counselor at Granger High School 1962-6He was a personnel coordinator and teacher recruiter for the 0. Gin-mt- e School District fiom 1963-6He was a supervisor, secondniy stalT personnel for the Granite District from 1964-69- , was director, secondary stall' peisonnel of the Granite District fiom 1969-7- 1 and had been the directoi of staff in the Granite Distiict from 1971 until the time of his death. He was a member of the Layton 21st Ward, and had seived an LDS mission to Hawaii from 1952-5Fie was a Sunday school president and was stake spoils directoi lot nine years. He was piesident of the Utah Business Education Association, an officer of Alpha Kappa Isi National Business Fraternity, an officer of the Granite Distiict Counselois Association, piesident of the Giamte District Secondaiy Principals and Supervisors Association. on the board of directors of the American Association of School Personnel Administrators. He was chairman and state delegate of the local voting district. He was president of the Utah Sy mpho-ni- c Choir, president of the Metro Ogden Team Tennis Association and held other church and community recreational positions. Layton; Mrs. Bart (Lisa) Murray and Miss Michele Hancock, both of Layton; 13 grandchildren. Also surviving are his mother of Salt Lake City, one biother and two sisters, Robert Sheldon Brewster. Mrs. Charles (Nadine) Burnett and Mrs. Joyce Lun-deber- all of Salt Lake City. Services were held May 16 at the Landquists Layton Chapel with Bishop Tom Pratt officiating.
