| Show FEBRUARY EXPORTS OF FARM PRODUCTS I 1 I 1 Feb february quary export aliona of farm products show a marked increase when compared with those ot of the corresponding month last year according to figures just received by the bureau ot of statistics department of commerce and labor corn wheat flour other bread breadstuffs stuffs and meat and dairy products all show a very large increase in february 1911 compared with february 1910 the quantity y of corn exported in february 1911 was practically 10 million bushels against 4 A i million in february of 0 last year of wheat 1 13 1 3 million bushels against I 1 million a year ago of flour thousand barrels against thousand in february 1910 meat and dairy products 10 million dollars in value against 9 million one year ago and cotton million pounds against million pounds in the corresponding month of last year in the 8 months ending with february corn exports show also aso a largo large increase being fo tor that period 35 million bushes bushels against 2212 22 million in the corresponding period a year earlier wheat exports however show a marked decline being in the 1911 period 18 13 1 3 million bushels against 38 13 1 3 million in the corresponding period of 1910 the outward movement of flour in the 1911 period is about the same as a year ago while other breadstuffs bread stuffs show a total export of 6 million dollars in value in the 1911 period against 4 million in the corresponding period of the prior year meat and dairy products exported in the 1911 period differ but a little from frore those of 1910 and cotton exports aggregated gre gated million dollars in value in the 1911 period against million a year earlier cattle hogs and sheep form the sole class showing a decline in both the month of february and the 8 months ending with february the value thereof exported in february 1911 being thousand dollars against 1 13 1 3 million in february 1910 and in 8 months ending with february 1911 7 million dollars against 10 million in the corresponding period of 0 the prece proceeding eding year one notable feature of the recent exports of breadstuffs bread stuffs is that the value of corn ex exported pored is is far in excess of that of wheat being in the month of february 1911 5 23 2 3 million dollars against a little over I 1 million dollars worth of wheat and 3 million dollars worth of flour for the 8 months period however exports ot of wheat and flour in combination are larger in value than corn exports the value of wheat exported in the eight months ending february 1911 being 17 million dollars and of flour 32 million while the value of corn exported is 19 million while the exportation por tation of wheat during the eight months ending february 1911 has been much less dian than that of the corresponding period last year and far below the annual average of the past decade the figures will not make the lowest record of our exports of that article the total exports in the 8 months ending february 1911 are 18 13 1 3 million bushels and in the single month of february 1 13 1 3 million indicating that for the fiscal year ending june 30 1911 the total will range between 20 and 30 million bushels while the exports of wheat in ill the fiscal year 1905 following the very short crop of 1904 amounted to only 4 13 1 3 million bushels the lowest record of wheat exports in many years it seems probable however that the exports of the fiscal year 1911 ifil wi tl with the single exception of 1905 be smaller than in any year since 1869 when the total was 17 million bushels |
