| Show LINDHOLM SUDDENLY last saturday a message was received from the 1 I 0 0 F lodge at truckee Truck co cal by the lodge in this city asking if a young man by name rogner lindholm belonged to the organization in this city stating staling that his mangled body had been picked up on the railroad track and a lodge card was found on his person bearing the above name with home address as brigham city utah A message was wag immediately wired back to hav the body prepared for shipment and send it on to this city when the news was broken to mr and mrs airs lindholm it not only shocked them but for a time they were incredulous tor for the reason that that very afternoon they had bad received three cards from their son dated san fran blaco thursday the agul the last one of which was mailed late in the evening telling them that he was all right and had just enlisted on a government ship bound for australia and expected to leave that el evening the tact fact however that the body found bore the 1 I 0 0 F card with their sons name came and address was waa something that could not be explained and while they hoped almost against hope that when the corpse arrived it would prove to be some other than their son the sad truth was confirmed tuesday morning when a little party including mr air N P lindholm undertaker william jenson and members of the lodge surrounded the box containing the remains in the express office obice at the depot and opened it not one in the groupe croupe tailed failed to recognize the chii features of rogner lindholm and they were revealed with a calm smile upon them an examination showed that thai the young man had been pretty badly bruised and cut by being run over by a liala aud hla body bad been caie carefully laid out and the bruises erased as far as possible so that to look upon him one could not discern the broken limbs and bruised form the young man became infused with a wander lust some weeks ago and left his homo home to see the world ile he has been working with his father since lie he became largo enough to labor and was developing into a first class mason ile ho was a tireless worker and for his size was a marvel ile he was just 22 years of age and the desire to get out was too strong so BO he left home some weeks ago since being gone lie ho has kept his parents posted as to his bis whereabouts and tho the cards received last saturday by his folks told plainly of his intentions to go 90 around the world it if possible ile he must have changed his mind in the last moment and decided to return home tor for the time between posting the last card written and when his mangled remains were found would be just sufficient for him to get from san francisco to truckee mr air and mrs lindholm are very much broken up over this sad accident which robs roba them of their only child the sympathy of the entire comment ty 17 goes out to them funeral services service were held in the fourth ward chapel yesterday nt 2 p m under the direction of tier iter adam 0 G frank of the presbyterian church assisted by the L 0 0 F V no 48 of which deceased was a member addresses were made by rev her frank and rey P A simpkin and a solo was wag rendered by mrs mra frank the lodge members attended in a body and preceded the cortege to the cemetery where their ritual was vas observed at the grave the florat dorat emblems were numerous and beautiful and the attendance at the services was wag large |
