Where can fast-bui- lt egos be torn to threads as quickly as they were built? Where can two or three hour friendships be bonded together with few dull moments to spare? Still havent put your finger on it? Yobr local golf course. There, you knew it all along didnt you. Ernie Schneiter Jr., for one, knows through years of experience what two hours on a golf course can do or cant do. Golf has always been a vivid part in his life and will always continue to be. Today he owns and operates his own golf course and facility in Riverdale, Utah, something he feels a deep appreciation about. long remembered Ernie Perhaps the will-b- e Schneiter Sr. was the one responsible for the youngers start on the golf links, more likely than not. Ernie Sr. spent 20 years at the Ogden Golf and Country Club before he opened the Riverside Golf Course in the early 60s. Im sure this really fullfilled a dream for my dad, said Ernie Jr., My dad had grown up at 40th and Washington and had caddied there at the country club since his early years. I think the dream of every golf professionalist is to own their own golf course and I feel very fortunate that in our family we were able to achieve this." Over the past decade, Riverside has made the necessarychanges under Ernie Jr.s supervision to suit local golfers fancies, state highway officials, and himself. What is really neat about golf is that you can play it from age 9 to 90, said Ernie. He remembered having caddied what he thought then were gentle oldermen and ladies. When I was at El Monte, Tonita Easly was winning dub championships there and in Ogden City. Even today she plays good golf. Through golf we have enjoyed an acquaintance over the past 45 years that will be im- possible to forget., Ernie recalled a Mrs. D.N. White who had won her fair share of club and city championships and hadnt started the game until she was 56. Ive always been amazed at this. When some people think life is towards the end, here are some people who are Just starting it. Bob Benny, Dr. Eugene Pack, Elmer Boyle and others were mentioned by Ernie.
