IT LOOKS By Lois Knutsen MAGNA It was a win for Wadsworth from third and the Cyprus Valley American Legion baseball team last Friday, June 27, at the high school diamond. The 27th game of the season saw Cyprus pit their ball han- runners. Hayda grounded out to the third baseman which brought in Casper. Jones singled and he scored Adams. Whitworth walked and Simons tripled, scoring Jones and Whitworth. The next two batters go out and that ended the inning. Three more runs were scored in the sixth inning. Wadsworth led off with a walk and Casper was on with a fielders choice forcing Wadsworth out. Adams singled and Hayda popped out to the pitcher. Jones got on on an error and scored Casper. Whitworth singled, there was a pass ball, and that scored Jones. Simons grounded out to the shortstop which ended the inning. Doug Adams was the winning pitcher and he also went three for four at bat. The game had two triples, each made by Simons and Adams. Make-u- p Game The Monday, June 30th, game was cancelled due to bad weather and has been re- dling prowess against Tooele. The local team ended the game with a score of 13-7. It was an exciting game with the team getting off to a slow start, not scoring until THE MAN IS SAFE on the third inning. At that time Ted Jones led off with a single and David Peck hit a homerun . which chalked up two points for the team. Peck was also the pitcher until the third inning being replaced by Doug Adams. Two more runs were made in the fourth inning. Doug Adams led off with a triple and Richard Hayda did a single and scored Adams. Bill Whitworth got hit by the pitch so there were two men on base. Todd Simons hit a fly out to the center fielder and that scored a run for Hayda. It was six runs in the fifth inning. The plays began with Wadsworth getting an error by the shortstop. Mark Casper walked followed with Doug Adams single to load first as Cyprus begins their game against Tooele last Friday. Hunter Little League Continues Season Play The Hunter Little League of the season.
