Springvllle; (Catherine) Mrs. Boman, LaGrande Bountiful ; (Marva) Allen, Mrs. Cleve R. (Vera) Winkel, Rexburg, Idaho; 27 grandchildren; a brother and sister, Funeral Chapel in Logan. Dr. Stevens died Tuesday at his home of a long illness. Friends may call at the mortuary Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Logan City Ceme- tery. Stevens was president of the USU Faculty Assn., and was a member of Delta Phi and Sigma Xi Utah Academy of Sciences. He was chairman of the Logan Health Council and a member of the Utah Board of Directors of the Utah Tuberculosis and Health Assn. Dr. BIT Graduate A graduate of Brigham Young University in 1927, Dr. Stevens received his M.S. in 1929 and a Ph. D. in 1932 from Rutgers University in New Jersey. He then joined the faculty at USU and had resided in Logan since 1932. Dr. Stevens was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-daSaints. He served as president of the Tahitian Mission from 1938 to 1940. He was a member of the Cache Stake High Council for seven years and a former temple officiator. He also taught in his high priests y quorum. Utah Native He was born Dec. 9, 1898 in Ferron, Emery County, to George William and Catherine Richards Stevens. He married Iona Brimhall on Sept. 9, 1926 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
