| Show THE CACHE EXCURSION NOTES AND observations ON THE WAY VAY A friend who accompanied the cache valley excursion party yesterday sent bent us word from hot springs weber county that the com company any arrived at that point at but little behind the time anticipated there were 18 cars all crowded and u upwards awa ads of 1000 people aboard A at t 0 ogden it was feared that owing to the multitude many would have i to be left on account of a scarcity of excursion cars but this unpleasant ness nebs was happily obviated by putting on a number of cars belonging to the regular train A delay was occasioned at ogden by this circumstance but nothing disagreeable the fir filemena fi remena emens band headed by mark croxall enlivened and dispelled the tedium with th their air inspiring strains an accident occurred between ogden and that foint point which though not serious occasioned considerable alarm until it was ascertained that the result was buch such as it proved A brakeman named edwards of ogden was walking along the narrow I 1 ledge edge or step which extends along each side eide ot of the excursion car the train was moving aud and just as he grasped for one of the iron handles on the side bide of each compartment another man coming from the opposite direction bot got gothia his hand on it first mr ared ed wards missed his hold and fell backwards the car struck him in the back and rolled him over several times he lay jay helpless until the train had pasted passed on for a quarter of a mile or so BO when the alarm having been given it was stopped ho he was taken aboard and though not seriously hurt it was found necessary to leave him at the Sp springs while au an express from ogden was sent for to take him home this was the only mishap so BO far tho day was fine the p people opie opio who were from all points of the compass not forgetting f friend candland from San han sanpete pete were b happy appy and expected a fine time osborn angell the logan temple architect was aboard he had been spending some time in sait balt lake andaas and tras going home homo on a brief visit and will return to balt bait lake lahe with the excursion |
