Show The Payson Chronicle, April 1, 1998, Page 2 General Plan Developing Payson Citys As Mayor of Payson, would like to thank and all the citizens who took City Council Agenda I compliment time out of their busy lives to attend the first citizen public meeting of the "Payson Then -Payson Now - and Payson 2020 Series." This administration promised to listen to the citizens and public input, and we will! The Payson City Planning Staff and Planning and Zoning Commissioners are in the process of developing our communitys General Plan for 1998 up to the year 2020. They are sincerely and earnestly seeking public input--s- o please get involved. The General Plan has been divided into seven different elements: Rehabilitation, Redevelopment & Conservation Public Services & Facilities - Mark Stevenson, Commissioner Environment - Kris Gourley, Commissioner Economics - Norm Finlinson, Commissioner Economic Development - Bob Provstgaard, Commissioner Land Use - Mez Stewart, Commissioner Transportation & Circulation - John Cowan, Commissioner If you have an interest to be on one or more of the above committees, please contact or Payson City Community Development Department at The creation of the General Plan is a very strategic and important project. We, as citizens, need to ask ourselves what we want to place as our top priorities. Should it be roads and potholes, economic development, finishing our business park, a new public safety building, new recreation and fitness center, downtown Main Street development, curb and gutter, storm and drain project, or any other project you feel is a priority? We all know that Payson cannot do everything all at once, so we need to prioritize, select the goals the plurality wants, and roll up our sleeves and go to work. With COMMUNITY UNITY -- - with the City Administration, City Employees, Volunteer Groups, Civic and Social Clubs, and Citizens, every one, I firmly believe we can accomplish any project or goal we desire. Within a short time, the next public meeting date will be announced and we are looking forward to even a greater citizen participation. Thanks so much. Mayor Gordon Taylor 465-520- 465-521- 4, 4.
