Show The Payson Chronicle, March 6, 1996, Page 14 Obituaries ThelRae M, Beckstrom James Dailey Moon, age 87, of Payson, Utah, passed away on SAturday, March 2, at his daughters home in Spanish Fork, Utah. He was bom May 12, 1908, in Woodland, Summit County, Utah, a son of Heber and Emily Henrietta Van Tassell Moon. He married Phyllis Cleola LeBaron on November 4, 1943, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She preceded him in death on January 24, 1992. James was educated in Tabiona and Provo schools. He attended the Brigham Young Academy. He was a sheep rancher until 1954, living in Hannah and Springville. He then purchased a dairy farm at West Mountain which he operated until 1969. He later worked for fruit processing plant for many years. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints, serving in many capacities, including a full time mission to the Southern States, and callings in leadership, teaching, music, drama, and sports. James enjoyed playing the piano and played at dances when he was younger. He enjoyed sports and was an avid BYU fan. He always had a good story or joke that could put people at ease. He is survived by 3 sons and a daughter and their spouses: James L. and Kathleen Moon, Benjamin, Utah; George G. Moon, Provo, Utah; Merton L. and Sharon Moon, Payson, Utah; Venice and Richard Kimball, Spanish Fork, Utah; 19 grandchildren 3 brothers and and 4 2 sisters: Orven, of Neola, Utah; Elmer, Duchesne, Utah; Vernon, Orem, Utah; Venice Van Wagoner Spencer, Salt Lake City, Utah; and Florence Johnson Anderson of Roosevelt, Utah. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Maurine Moon; and 3 brothers: Robert, Vemell, and Wil- 19, Muir-Rober- Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and Olive ThelRae Morby Beckstrom, age 69, of Payson, Utah, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 1996, at her home. She was bom September 27, 1926, in Salem, Utah, a daughter of Raymond G. and Thelma Davis Morby. She married Wayne Argyle Beckstrom on November 26, 1946, in Salem, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in May of 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple. ThelRae was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints, serving faithfully in many capacities, including Relief Society president. She loved people and was dedicated to her family. She is survived by her husband, Wayne, of Payson; 5 sons and 2 daughters and their spouses: Harold and Patty Beckstrom, Orem, Utah; Ray G. (R.G.) Beckstrom, Ogden, Utah; Allen Beckstrom and Ricky Beckstrom, both of Payson; Kathryn and Kevin Garbe, Spanish Fork; Kelly and Gaylyn Beckstrom, Genola; Sharleen and Ted Ahlin, of Santaquin; 12 grandchildren and 2 and a sister, Carol Campbell, of Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Harold and Grant Morby. Services were held on Friday, March 1, 1996, in the Mountain View 5th Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Salem City Cemetery under the direction of Walker Mortuary, Payson. James D. Moon ts liam. Services will be held on Wednesday, at 11 :00 a.m. in the Payson March 6, South Stake Center, 711 South 600 East. Friends may call at the chapel from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Santaquin City Cemetery. 19, Marion P. Loveless Marion Patten Loveless, age 81, of Payson, Utah, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 27, 1996. She was bom July 23, 1914, in Payson, Utah, a daughter of Henry Vivian and Ruth Bona Patten. She married Sherman Loveless on September 12, 1933, in- the Logan LDS Temple. They celebrated their 60th wed-din- g anniversary this past year. She lived her entire life in Payson, caring for and seeing to the needs of others. Marions greatest joy in life was her family. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y g service. She was Saints, giving a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She is survived by her husband, Sherman, of Payson; 2 daughters and 2 sons and their spouses: Pat and Theron Hill, Payson; Joan and Ken Peterson, Paradise; Gordon and Charlotte Loveless, Provo; and Brent and Jeanne Loveless, Payson. She was a special grandmother to 18 grandchildren and 28 She leaves a loving sister, Bernice (Vem) Dillard, of Payson; also special Edna Mae Ludlow, Nephi; Miles and Eleanor Loveless, and Dr. Merrill and Janice Oldroyd, all of Payson. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Vivian; a sister, Erma; and inlaws: Hollie and Edith Ockerman, and Jack Ludlow. Services were held on Saturday, March 2, 1996, in the Payson 2nd LDS Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Payson City Cemetery under the direction of Walker - life-lon- s: Mortuary, Payson. Clyde F. Cowan Clyde Franklin Cowan, age 95, of Payson, Utah, passed away at his home on Saturday, March 2, 1996. He was bom on September 20, 1900, a son of Franklin Andrew and Ella Montague Cowan. He married Melba Mendenhall on September 9, 1927, in Payson, Utah. He is survived by his wife, Melba, of Payson; a daughter, Jean (Jess) Barton, of Springville, Utah; 2 grandchildren: Kristy Barton, Springville; and Dan Barton, of Louisville, Kentucky; 2 Shandyn and Jestyn; a brother and a sister: Reed Cowan and Joyce Fullmer, both of Salt Lake City, Utah; also various other family members. Graveside services were held on March 5, 1996, at the Payson City Cemetery under the direction of Walker Mortuary, Payson. Ada Memmott Johnson Ada Willden Memmott Johnson, 71, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 1996, at her daughters home in Spanish Fork, Utah, after a courageous battle with can-ce- r. She was bom February 18, 1925, in Payson, Utah, to Leonard and Wanda Benson Willden. She married Harold Memmott on July 23, 1941, in Provo, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. He died January 18, 1973. She married Theron (Red) Johnson on April 23, 1977, in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. He died March 14, 1979. She attended school in Santaquin and Paysoa She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints, serving in the Primary and Young Women. Her home and yard was one of perfection. She won many awards for her beautiful yards. Her home as featured in The Daily Herald in December of 1977, displaying her ability to decorate. She was the love of her children and grandchildren, showing them what true bravery was. She had a great sense of humor, having us laughing to the end. She was a very giving person, sharing her talents with many. She is survived by her dear, dear friend, Joe White, Springville, Utah; her sons and daughters: Kathryn (Larry) Mattinson, Judi (Gary) Johnston, Terry (Barbara) Memmott, all of Spanish Fork; Randy (Julie) Memmott, Payson; Ronny (Janice) Memmott, Santaquin; Cindy (Keith) Anderson, Spanish Fork; 24 grandchildren and 1 sister, and 16 West Doris (Dixie) Dennis, Valley. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, and a brother, Lavar Willden. A special thanks to Gaye Christiansen, Moms RN; and Alisha Romero and Mandy Eakett, Moms aids of Horizon Home Health. Funeral services will be held on Wedat 1 1 :00 a.m. in the nesday, March 6, North Park Ward Chapel, 600 North Main, Spanish Fork. Friends may call at the chapel one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
