Show 3B WEST VAUEY VIEW Thursday, Dec 11,1980 Moybelle Herbert Celebrates 80th Birthday In December Maybelle Winegar Herbert will be honored on her 80th birthday with an open house at the home of her daugh-er- , Mrs Abel Gudmundsen at 2632 West 3965 South, West Valley all day Sunday the 14th of December JJ Maybelle is the mother of two children, Glen W. Ishmael of Salt Lake and Dianne (Mrs Abel) Gudmundsen of West Valley. She also has six grandchildren and seven i4 nrl James M James and his sister Gladys when he was four years old Deveraux James Deveraux Honored On Eightieth Birthday Celebrating December Maybelle Winegar Herbert Mrs Herbert was bom December Salt Lake and attended Jackson School and West high She married William Ishmael in 1926 but they were later divorced Maybelle was then married in November of 1940 to Lawrence B Herbert He died in April of 1972 Mr and Mrs Herbert lived on Hanauer Street in Murray for over 38 years w here she was a member of the Murray 3rd ward She now lives with her daughter Dianne Gudmundsen in West Valley City Maybelle was an office worker for the Salt Lake LDS Temple for 25 years She was secretary to President Stephen L Chipman but also worked in many other departments She retired in 1962 Maybelle is a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and is a lifetime member of the Utah Genealogical Society Her main interest, outside of her family and work, has been to work m genealogy She has been the family genealogist for many years and has carried on an extensive correspondence with others interested in the same families and decendents She has worked in various positions in the LDS Church pertaining to 10, 1900 in Maybelle when she was sixteen years old genealogy and has helped many of her friends, neighbors and relatives start research for their own families Her family relates that all of her life she has been a person who puts forth just that little extra effort to do extra things for other people his 80th birthday on James M Devei 16th is aux He will be honored on this day w ith an open house hosted by his children at Pioneer Hall on 1140 West 7800 South, West Jordan from the hours of 6.30 to 8.30 p m Mr Deveraux was born December 7, 1900 m Merlin, Oregon to James Davis and Annie M Deveraux He married Edna E Winslow December 28, 1925 in Los Angeles, California Their marriage was later solemnized m the Salt Lake LDS Temple Mrs Deveraux is now deceased James worked as a machinist for the Tempest Company for forty five years He is presently high priest in the West Jordan 3rd Ward He has worked w ith the Boy Scouts has a lifetime membership, and also worked in both the MIA and Junior Sunday School He now lives in W'est Jordan where he has been for the past five years but previous to that he lived in Mur- ray for 36 years He is the father of seven children Keith L of West Jordan, Delores A Lersch of Lehl, Marcus J of Palmer, Washington, Don L of Kent Washington, Patricia D Lloyd and Sharon Rugg of Murray and E Kay Dyson of Whitney, California He has 32 grandchildren and 54 great grandchildren McMillan Camp Holds West Valley residents, Mitchell Ronald Barker and Sandra Jorgensen, were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on November 26 A wedding breakfast at the Hotel Utah followed the ceremony and that evening a reception was given at the Hunter Central LDS Stake center Sand! a, a Kearns high giaduate, is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Vard aman S Jorgensen She is a student at the I nnersity of Utah Mitchell is the son of Mr and Mrs Ronald C Barker and is a Cyprus high graduate where he was student body president He is a, so a student at the UofU and has filled an LDS mission to Miami where he served the Puerto Rican and Cuban refugees Beth Barker was maid of honor while Stephanie Baldes, Merlina Stevens and Heather and Dawn Bar- ker were bridesmaids Flower girl was Rebecca Barker and Shauna Jackson attended the guest book Best man was Stephen Barker Ushers were Bart, Sterling and Marshall Barker, Dave Noyce, Bruce Fowkes, Greg Fatsinger, Gary Samuelson, Todd Fallows, Mike Farnsworth and Gary Kirby The newlyweds honeymooned at the Homestead and will then make their home in West Valley Pre nuptial parties were hosted by Beth Barker, Stephanie Baldes, Mary Fames, Carol Alexander, Patti Wright, Clarissa and Donna Orton and Jeri Barker Mr and Mrs Mitchell Ronald Christmas Get Together Try Green Sheet classified Warm, Comfy Nightwear the tall girl on your list with a soft, thick acrylic wrap robe this Christmas Or, perhaps, a very warm full length gown might bring a smile What may really suit her best is old fashion PJ's complete with long sleeves and feet Delight ads' 2 TUB Table FURNITURE FACTORY Use Your Visa Mastercharge So.
