Robinson's Transport decorated one of their big rigs for the holiday season, and covered it with hundreds of lights. When lighted, the truck seems to be traveling along. If you haven't taken a tour through the city to see some of the dazzling light displays, take time to do it. It's wonderful. Christmas Message of peace One of the things I like to do best this time of year is to go up in the mountains into the deep snow and frozen forests. There is an awesome beauty and quiet peacefulness that just cannot be found down where we live. There is a serenity there that you can feel and see in stark contrast to the busyness and noise and man-mad- e tinsel trappings that surround the Christmas season. In the same way, the event of the birth of Christ on that first Christmas Day in a lowly stable among the creatures of God was a " quite contrast to the hurries and hurts of the rest of the people around Bethlehem and around the world. The Prince of Peace, bom of a virgin apart from sin, lived a sinless life and then suffered a violent death on the cross at the hands of sinful men. The Bible says in Isaiah 53, that He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities and the chastisement or punishment for our peace was upon Him. God became a man, suffered and paid the penalty for all our sins so that we could be saved and reconciled and find peace with God. Even when we go up into the snowy mountains where its peaceful outside, we still take our troubles and hurts and problems with us. Theres only one way we can have peace with God and know perfect peace on the inside. It is not by membership in some church or by living a better life to try to gain salvation. It is by trusting in the sacrifice and work of Christ alone to take away our sins and have Him come into our lives as our personal Lord nd Savior. When we do that, God forgives our sins and gives us the gift of eternal life. With that kind of salvation, we can live for God and know His perfect peace in our souls even in the midst of all the trials and tribulations of life. This is the message of Christmas! It is a message of glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men. Pastor Mike Bardon South Sanpete Baptist Church A message KICK UP YOUR HEELS AND CELEBRATE!
