This Christmas, dollars being a little hard to come by, F&G dug into his idea box and came up with some handcrafted items for his little ones special gifts above and beyond Santas traditional call. A fledgling student of the mountain man and the old ways, F&G decided to turn his meager gleanings into presents for his offspring. Procuring leather, an odd here and end there, he spent most of a month fashioning his gifts. A scabby, scuffed cow horn was scraped and polished, wood carved, leather sliced, brass tacks hammered. A genuine" small scale horn was born. powder Then, leather was .carefully wet and stretched, a pattern prepared and in the wee hours after the babes were wrapped in slumber, the cutting and sewing took place. Cutthroat trout, as many sportsmen know, are a special interest at Bear Lake. Part of the divisions overall fishery program at Bear Lake is the Bear lake Cutthroat Enhancement program. Provide Strain The design is to provide a strain of cutthroat that thrives in Bear Lake's cold, deep water. Eggs are taken from spawning cutthroat largely in May and early June and taken to hatcheries where they are raised to approximately five inches in length and then returned to the lake. All the fish reared from eggs taken from Bear Lake are returned to the lake. According to Nielson, the growth rate of the cutthroat at Bear Lake is very encouraging. The harvest rate seems small compared to other waters in the state. Botam coachos to moot Thursday le And Stephanies feelings for her moccasins were no less strong.
