Show I Hill Cumorah pageant Honoyvillo Hotllno was Missionaries Young adults will perform plan activities in production Two Brigham City missionaries have been selected to perform in the 1976 production of "Americas Witness for Christ, sponsored yearly by the LDS church. The pageant will be presented 1 at 9 p.m. July 23, 24, nightly on the slopes of the Hill Cumorah near Palmyra, New York. Ronnie L. Bradshaw, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clare Bradshaw 627 North Second West, Brigham City, graduated from Box Elder High school and is a member of the Brighaiti Ctiy 18th ward. Robert Olsen son of Mr. and Mrs. Clair Olsen, 127 North Tenth East, is also a graduate of Box Elder High school and a member of the Brigham City 13th ward. Both elders are serving missions with the New mission of the LDS 27-3- York-Rochest- er church. Of bis selection. Elder Bradshaw said, I feel grateful that the load counted me worthy to serve on a mission, I love my mission for many reasons. I'm looking forward to the pageant and the special experiences it brings. Reflecting his feelings. Elder Olsen said, I'm grateful to be on a mission and to have the to touch other opportunity peoples lives. The pageant is a special chance to help others to see why I believe the way I do. Both elders will be assigned specific roles after auditions before the director. Some 600 young Mormon men and women and , several families along with selected missionaries will participate in this Year's pageant. Dr. Harold Hnsen, who himself served a mission in New York state, will direct the pageant, which is expected to attract nearly 200,000 spectators during the seven night run. by Elaine Telman The Honeyville Young Adults have many fnteresting activities planned for the summer. Coming up this week is a trip to the Manti pageant Friday night, and then a regional road rally at Bear Lake Saturday. Those planning to attend the rally meet at the South Stake River City. The boys have just completed their baseball team season, and the all-st- ar chosen Friday night at their banquet held at the Bear River City ward. James Lyons will be their coach. Enjoyable Season Its been an enjoyable season 7 the first one I have attended, since it is the first year I have had either of my boys involved in it. The Powder Puff league is half-wa- y through its season in Bear River also. The girls are having an enjoyable time their first season. Many thanks to the leaders who got this going for the girls. Last month Rosemary, BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Rose- went on a week-lon- g backpacking trip to Escalante. On Monday the group of 19 drove to Escalante and then 40 miles further south where they left their cars, put on their back packs and headed down Coyote Wash for four miles where they camped for the night. On Tuesday the group hiked around the area and after lunch hiked another four miles to the Jacob Hamblin arch for the second night camp. Wednesday they left their packs behind and hiked seven miles to the Escalante river climbing down water falls, rope ladders, helping each other over cliffs, hiking in the river and in general having fun. There will be water skiing and swimming along with the rally. The Primary closing program and carnival is tonight at 6 p.m. There will be the usual goodies for sale, and lots of games and fun activities, after the 'program to be held inside. Everyone is invited to attend. Summer Camp APYW summer camp will be held on a ward basis this year July 1 at the Beaver campgrounds in Logan canyon. Girls who are planning to go should get their papers in by July IS. Town board meeting was held Monday night and the town ordinances with the new revisions were approved. Anyone wishing to see a list of these ordinances may do so by contacting the town clerk, Paul Orme. She was born Dec. 3, 1901, irt Ephraim, Utah, a daughter of Soren A. and Emma Neilson Olsen. She was married to Melvin A. Johnson on Oct. 7, 1922, in Salt Lake City. The marriage was ' solemnized in the Logan LDS temple on Dec. 16, 1925. She graduated from high school in Ephraim and had lived ' in Oakland, Calif.
