Visitors at the Robert Gardner home during the past holiday time were Mrs. Karen Shoen and sons from Dallas, Tex. She is a sister of Mrs. Gardner. Miss Rhonda Goodey, Logan, Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Goodey and family, Clarkston; Mr. and Mrs. Michael DeGris-elle- s and family from Salt Lake City also visited the Gardners. The Young Adult class of the Sunday school enjoyed some superb tacos prepared by Miss Beva Marble and Miss Carolyn Holdaway at their party Tuesday evening in the cultural hall. Christensen, Rex Osmond and Roger Nelson stood before Perry Justice of the Peace Sam Blysma and took the oath of office for four year terms to the city council. The meeting began at 7 p.m. and was held in the town hall and was witnessed by the wives of the new members, outgoing members, hold over councilmen, Mayor Jay Matthews and town clerk, Elmer Matthews. ' Following the swearing in ceremonies, Mayor Matthews thanked the outgoing members for the time and the fine job they had done. Those leaving the council will be Robert Stacks, John Vaicarce, Aldous Weight and Paul Krambule,' who has moved away. Department assignments were then made for the coming with goals discussed in each department. Mayor Matthews will be over the junk yard, police officer and justice of the peace, with sale of permits to Perry residents only year and improvements in each department discussed. Will Serve Councilman Dave Hewlett will serve over the water and sewer committee. The desire to keep bills more current was expressed. J.J. Christensen will head the roads and light , department. When a resident has a street light go out on their corner, they can now report this to him. The town park will be overseen by councilman Rex Osmond. Improvements to the park with new additions will top his assignment along with the town for planning celebration this summer and reservations for family outings and scheduling activities of the park. Robert Call will be over the license department which includes all business licenses, building and sewer permits and the collection of dog tags. Special Committees Roger Nelson will be the board member over all special committees. His assignment will include the grievance committee, zoning and planning committees, the duck club, Christmas party and fire protection. They will be holding another board meeting this week to prepare the annual town letter to inform the residents of Perry more about their new offices. Dec. 31 was a special day in the lives of Lisle and Vera Larsen as they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. They were married Dec. 31, 1925 in Brigham City by Abel S. Rich. The Larsens have called Perry their home all their married life except for two years at which time they lived in Nephi. Lisle and Vera are the parents of three daughters and one son: Mrs. Vera Jean Stokes of Salt Lake; Mrs. Merlin (Deanna) Tracy, Centerville; Mrs. DeWayne (Glenda) Goldsberry, Pleasant View; and Gary Larsen, Bountiful. They have 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild. They celebrated with a family dinner at the Larsen home and close friends dropped in. Their children presented them with a gold rocking chair. Flew Home Enjoying the opportunity of the Christmas holiday to fly home and visit with her parents in Perry was Janice Wheeler. She was met by her parents, Nathan and Melba Wheeler on the Monday before Christmas from her home in Boston, Mass. On Christmas .eve a family party was held at the Wheeler home which included Nathan and Melba, Douglas and Devon and Janice, Mr. and Mrs. N. A. Wheeler and Julie and Ralph with the general board and has spent time on the church historical correspondence committee and has taught at BYU. They will share ideas on personal and family histories which will help those who are working on such a project. The Bruenings will then be the speakers at the Perry First Ward Sacrament meeting beginning at 6:30 p.m. Traditional Party traditional New Years party was held at the Royal Petersens home on New Years Day. The family gathered to exchange white elephant gifts and enjoy dinner together. Members of the family attending were: Pearl and Lee Hansen of Roy; Don and Karen Devoie and two children of Clearfield; A1 and Chris Baker and son of Wisconsin; Royal and Zina Petersen, Adreana, Evone, Nadine and Theron Valencia; Gene and Freda Oyler, Lynn Oyler and Renee Oyler and her son John all of Perry. Tuesday evening the women of the two Perry wards attending night Relief society will have the opportunity to learn more about wills and other legal matters from attorney Dale Dorius. Mrs. Doris Hunsaker, work leader, extends an to all women of the wards wishing to learn more on this subject to attend this meeting. A New Years party was held at the home of Dennis and Judy Nelson in Kaysville which included Bob and Bonnie Nelson and family, Janice and Grant Johnson and family and Joe and Wanda Sebek all of Perry; Russell and Louise Nelson and family of Riverdale, Boyd and Beverly Nelson and family of Willard; Mrs. Zina White and Keith and Wendy Davis of Brigham City; and Dennis and Judy and their family of Kaysville. Looking back on the happening of 1975, about the biggest news for most of the residents was the completion of the LDS chapel and the big moving day, April 13. The best news is that this past week Bishop Robert Lund made a trip to Salt Lake City to make final payments on this building so the members are looking forward to the dedication very soon-- . A few of the residents, still farmers, were quite pleased with their crops this past year. Most of the crops were very good with the exception of celebrated his 12th birthday on Dec. 27. An ice skating party in Ogden was held in his honor with family and some friends. Sunday evening, Dec. 28 he his received Primary graduation certificate and his Priesthood Duty to God Trails award. Following Sacrament meeting he was ordained a deacon by his father. The holiday season was very busy at the Hedrick home with family visiting and parties. They attended a Gordon family party at the Lions Lodge in Smithfield. Thirty-fiv- e members of the Earl and Pearl Gordon family were together to enjoy the holiday festivities. The Hedrick family, Wil, Earlene, Teresa, Gordon and Kirk then spent time in Ashton, Idaho, visiting at the home of Wils parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bee Hedrick. During their stay the family enjoyed winter activities of ice skating and sleding. Among the new residents of Perry this past few months has been William and Julie Amos and their grandson John. The Amos family have bought the Krambule home. We would like to welcome them to Perry. Making Preparations The Gerald Nelson family are making preparations for a new assignment. They will be making their home in Germany for the next two years. Gerald will soon be leaving to get settled and begin his work, Kay and the family will join him after school lets out in May. We wisji them the very best in this new assignment. We were glad to receive the news that Sherilyn Johnston is now at home and feeling better. Sherilyn was taken ill during the holidays and was taker, to the University Medical center in Salt Lake for treatment. Sherilyn is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Johnston. Wed like to extend our sympathy to Eldon Kunz and the members of the Loudell Reese family this past week in the passing of Mrs. Fern Kunz of Tremonton. She was a mother and grandmother to these Perry residents. is Mrs. Kraus Judy recovering from the mumps. We hope she is soon over them and up and around with her family. The Perry Second Wards Merri Miss class had a special quest on Tuesday afternoon. Patriarch H. Eugene Perry talked on the Priesthood and its lt Jr tz zj Tucker, Mr. and Mrs. Charleir Tucker, Mr. and Mrs. John Stokes, Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Stokes, Mr. and Mrs. John Hall, Mrs. Ivy Hodson and Mrs. Betty Hill. Also On Hand Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Tucker of Garland, also were on hand to help with the good time. Members of Jack's family, including his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sey- mour Rindlisbacher, ii p Skating Party Mr. and Mrs. Tim Barrus took members of his Sunday school class to Logan for a roller skating party Friday night. They had supper in Logan. Attending were the Misses Dan-en- e Gardner, JoAnn Rindlisbacher, Laurie Fryer and Kristine Thompson, Curtis Grow, Dale Marble and Clayt Gardner. Miss Bonnie Germer left Wednesday morning for an exciting adventure. She will be attending college in Hawaii for the winter quarter. Bonnie left from Salt Lake City with a group of students from BYU. Parents Jack and Bernice were anxiously waiting for a word at the forepart of the week to hear how they made the trip. They were to go by plane from Los Angeles. Miss Beva Marble, who has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Marble and other family members during the holidays returned to Denver, Colo. Sunday. Jack and Mary Gable Ingalls and their family came from Eugene, Ore., and visited with the Zane Wheatley family for several days.
