Worship begins at 10:30 a.m. A special invitation is given to those who havent been to church for a long time, but who ought to get started. Wed like to see you in church this Sunday. An informal evening worship is held Sunday nights at This coming Sunday we will celebrate the Lord-- Supper and will dedicate our pledges for the next year. Worship service commences at 10:30. This begins the first full week of Advent, starting Nov. 30. Sunday evening the Deacons will meet at the church. Time will be announced. Also Sunday evening the Junior High Sand Dollars will get together at 6:30 at Gillespie will be Hall. The program presented by Pastor Strayer and Mrs. Frances Jones on the meaning of Christmas. Senior High Serendipity group will meet Monday evening at Gillespie Hall. This Monday a film on the life and teachings of Jesus will be shown. All parents and anyone interested in seeing the film, are invited. Do plan to come. A congregational meeting to elect deacons and elders will be held immediately following the Sunday worship service on Dec. are 14. All church members eligible to vote at this meeting and should plan to be in attendance. We would like to invite you to worship with us this coming Sunday. Opr Bible teaching hour begins at "10 a.m. with worship following at 11. We have a class for everyone so you can study the Bible with those of your age. We also look forward to Dec. 17 when our choir will present this years Christmas Cantata, Night of Miracles. First Baptist church located at the corner South and Sixth West. to see you there. The 10 a.m. service will include a special Christmas performance by the combined Aldersgate-Tremonto- n choirs and a Birthday For Jesus event designed for the entire family. This service will be in place of the regular 9:15 a.m. service at Corinne. This Thursday evening many of the Aldersgate members are going to Tremonton to attend the United Community Methodist church chili supper, bazaar, and bake sale, 6 - 8 p.m. The price of tickets for the meal is $1.25 for adults and $1 for children under 8 years of age. The community is invited. St. Henry's is of Fifth We hope Catholic Holy Mass, Aldersgate Methodist d Colorado. This Sundays service will include the worship congregation singing such traditional Christmas hymns as Joy to the World", Away in a Manger, and 0 Come, All Ye of Faithful. The Aldersgate Choir will sing an arrangement of Gesu and conclude the Bambino service with a contemporary arrangement of Let There Be Peace On Earth. The mornings meditation, That Great Hope, will focus upon the birth of Christas recorded in the New and an unTestament derstanding of the meaning of His life as interpreted by the Lutheran y 5:30 p.m. 8, 9:15, 11 Para-Liturg- The members and friends of the United Aldersgate Methodist church continue to meet for worship, 9:15 - 10:15 a.m. in the historic, century-olMethodist Episcopal Church building at Corinne, Sixth and late Monday-Frida- a.m. Saturday Mass Sunday Masses a.m. 8:45 theologian, Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Sunday, Dec. 21, the Aldersgate congregation will worship at Tremonton with the congregation of the Community United Methodist church, 207 North Tremont street. Monday-Frida- y 5:15 p.m. This Friday is First Friday of the month. Masses at 8:45 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. On Dec. 16 we will have the children present a Christmas pageant as part of their party. Any child interested in participating is asked to come to the parish hall on Dec. 7 and 14 at 2 p.m. The 7th and 8th grades will be in the parish hall on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. for instruction and social. These sessions will last two hours. CYO is planning a dance on Dec. 13 in the church hall from 7 to 10:30. Tickets are one dollar. There will be a live band and gift certificates from Canterbury Tapes will be given away. We need adults to act as chaperones. Our denominational radio broadcast - the Back to God Hour - is heard Sundays on KBUH at 8:30 a.m. Dr. Joel the radio is Nederhood minister. Preschoolers for Jesus meet on Wednesdays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Childrens Bible club at 4. is held on Thursdays Calvinette club meets Tuesday night at 6:30. Our ladies meet every two weeks on Wednesday nights. Our men are planning a breakfast at the Red Baron a week from this Saturday. They are working on a few projects at the local county jail. A Christmas church supper is planned for Monday, Dec. 15. Holy Cross Bible Church Lutheran December is a special month because of the holiday season. But each Sunday is special at the Bible Church because we gather together to worship and praise God and study His word. The Bible calls Christians special people (I Peter 2:5, 9). Join with us this week. Come with us at 9:45 each Sunday to our growing Sunday school. Then at 11 worship with us at our Morning Worship The Sacrament of Holy Communion will be offered at Holy Cross Lutheran Church for the last time in 1975 this coming Sunday at the regular 9 a.m. worship service. Rev. John Lundblad, pastor of the congregation, will preach on the message of John the Baptist, the one who announced the coming of the Messiah to Israel, just as we now in the season of Advent wait for the coming of the Christmas message again. Members of the congregation will also be making this Sunday the last special offering for the world hunger appeal of the Lutheran Church in America for this year, which has seen six million dollars being given for the work of feeding hungry people around the world and of establishing special projects to break the cycle of hunger and famine in towns and villages. All of the money has gone to human meet needs; service. Romanosky will continue his series on The Riches of Divine Grace. At 3:30 a special baptismal service is planned with the and churches at Logan Kaysville here with us. A fellowship luncheon will follow and then our Evening service will be at 6 instead of 7 so the families of the Kaysville Bible Church can join us. A special film from Underground To Russia with Evangelism, will be shown. Love ministrative costs have all been covered by special grants and regular budgets of the church. Cold but clear. Now today the snowstorm seems to be coming our way. Bill and Mary Thomas chose a great time to vacation in Hawaii. They left last Thursday to join Bills brother, David Thomas, in Tremonton. Youth Night is on Monday. Teens are invited to Grace Base 7 to 9, and the younger children meet at the church for Junior Crusaders 7 to 8:15. Sunday is the second Sunday in Advent. The Holy Eucharist will be celebrated at 11. The second Advent candle will be lighted at this service. The celebration of the Holy Eucharist is scheduled mid-wee- k at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. The Lay Readers class will meet Wednesday evening at 7:30 in the church. The three of them drove to California, enjoying some time in Las Vegas. In California, their mother, Mrs Mary Harmon, and the Thomases boarded a plane for Hawaii where they plan to enjoy a couple of weeks. Ed Harris is filling in for Dave Thomas at the Thomas cafe. Allen and Vera Tanner drove to Brigham Friday to spend the weekend. Allen visited in Ogden with Darrell Tanner and in Tremonton with Don Tanner. Mrs. Vera Tanner spent her time with the Bob Torreys and Dean Clarks, and was an overnight guest of her sister, Mrs. Chloe Tanner. Enjoying a few days with her grandparents, Melissa and Max Tanner, is little Cissie Tanner of Malta. Bob Rogers brought her to Grouse Creek on Saturday and she returned home Wednesday. On Monday she went to Burley with Max and Melissa on a business trip. Overnight Visitors Mrs. Irma Warburton and daughters, Carolyn and Rosemary, were Sunday overnight visitors of her mother, Mrs. Angie Adams in Logan. They were busy Monday keeping doctor appointments. Reese Warburton was in Yost Wednesday evening attending a soil conservation meeting at the home of Ken Richins. Marilyn and Edith Kimber drove out from Tremonton to spend the weekend with their family, the Jack Kimbers. Marilyn is working at Thiokol and Edith is attending high school at Bear River. Vernal Montgomery of Tremonton spent a couple of days with Melissa and Max Tanner recently. Mrs. Angie Adams came out from Logan last Saturday to bring her granddaughter, Sher-iss- e Warburton home. Jackie and Edith Kimber also returned with them to Tremonton. Mrs. Grace Warburton returned home Sunday after spending several weeks with her niece in Bountiful. Reese Warburton drove down Sunday to get his mother. To Spend Holidays Carol and Dwight Warburton and family were in Layton over the weekend with Carols mother. They brought Mrs. Smith-e- n back to Grouse Creek to spend the holidays with the Warburtons. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Tanner and Mrs. Kenna Tanner were in Burley Wednesday and visited Blaine and Julie Tanner and Jay Tanner. Max and Melissa Tanner drove to Elko, Nev., Thursday to meet their friends. They were dinner guests of Leon Paulo and Palmer Traynum of Colusa, Calif. The two men came on to Grouse Creek for a couple of days with the Tanners, then took back their jeep they had left since deer season. Marge and Hughie Thompson and Brian Thompson were in Brigham over the weekend with the rest of their family. Their daughter, Bambi, is undergoing treatment for phlebitis. An enjoyable party was held Friday evening at the home of Mrs. Wilda Kimber. Mrs. Gail Berchtold of Ogden came out and demonstrated Sarah Coventry jewelry. Attending were Rhea Toyn, Brenda Kimber, Eula Kimber, Naomi Kimber, Flo Gross, Raida Kimber, Marsha Oman, Betty Kimber. with Wilda Kim- ber were her daughters, Judy Rae Barnedt and Sharon Kim- - ber. They served a delicious luncheon. Met With Accident Coming to spend the weekend with Max and Melissa Tanner were Dick and Linda Mecham and their children, Melissa and Ricky of North Fork, Nev. Linda had met with an unfor-unat- e accident and had cut the nerve in her thumb. Her doctor had sent her to a specialist at the University of Utah hospital. The Mechams were here Saturday and Sunday, to Salt Lake Monday, and returned home Tuesday. The specialist assured Linda that her thumb would be healed and she would regain the use of her hand. Mrs. Gail Berchtold, Jimmy, Joey, Jeff and Jill of Ogden were Thursday evening and Friday visitors of her parents, Archie and Rhea Toyn. Mrs. Vivian Thomas and Mrs. Carol Warburt.on drove to Tremonton Wednesday to attend a meeting for leaders. Carol is in charge of a homemaking class and Vivian is teaching horsemanship. Theres news at the Reese Warburton home. Dixie McBee of Brigham City has come to live with Reese and Irma and family as their foster child. She is 13 years old and right now feels like Grouse Creek is absolutely at the end of the world. Walter Jaggi and Mrs. Hayes brought Dixie out on Wednesday and were dinner guests of Harley and Garrell Sanders. Spending the weekend in Salt Lake were Randy and Brenda Kimber. On their way home they visited Karla and Reed Beecher and family in Bountiful, Diane and Roger Koos in Ogden. Brenda said, Our time ran out before we could visit all of the families we wanted. Oren and Opal Kimber were in Rupert Monday taking cattle to the sale for Winifred Kimber. |
