Show Willard Reports ? Christmas season. There has been an abundance this past week. Together with the snow and carols being sung in church and over the radio, we all seem to be in the spirit just in time. It really is beginning to look a lot like Christmas. The annual Lions club Christmas party was held at Sherwood Hills. President LeRoy Dowdle welcomed all present including special guests Mr. and Mrs. Gary Huckaby. After dinner Gary entertained with a variety of jokes, sang, and accompanied himself on the guitar. He styled himself as a true tuba player, but he had learned the guitar in the past week so he could bring his own accompaniment. Gary is certainly a quick study, because his fingering was very good. His songs included, You are Sweetheart my sung especially for his sweetheart, d Karen, Rudolf the White Christmas Reindeer, and Snowbird. As part of the business, 100 percent awards were presented to Lewis Harding, Tom couple have chosen is long? Troop 215. At this meeting the following boys received awards. Bobcat: Returned this past week from Toronto, Canada, are Gay and Helen Pettingill. They attended a business convention on farm machinery. Also combining business and pleasure for a trip to Hawaii were Ed and June Summers. They stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian in Honolulu and attended the Goerlicks line presentatin on mufflers. In the evening they saw the show Paradise Found at the Hilton Dome. The show is the story of the islands of Hawaii. It begins with the volcanic birth of the islands, continues through the missionaries and ends with what the directors feel the future of the 50th state is to be. The Summers took a cruise of Pearl Harbor where they saw Ford Island, and the Utah and Arizona memorials. They also visited the Punch Bowl cemetery, the Polensian Cultural Center and the temple of Oahu. A live volcano and pineapple and sugar cane fields were seen by the couple while touring the islands. Red-Nose- Christensen, Ira Archibald, Jense Simonsen, Chet Keyes and Eldon Watts. Dale Holmes also earned his award, but was unable to attend the party. Gifts for all the ladies were presented by the club. They were selected and wrapped by Jens and Irene Simonson. Waterfall Cascades. On Kauai, a riverboat took them to Fern Crotto. This is a beautiful cave with a large rock overhang. A waterfall cascades into a beautiful emerald green pool with lovely flowers and ferns on all sides. Rook Club Everywhere the Summers The Rook club of Willard held their party at the home of Mary Perry. This club that meets once a month for cards, has met for about 25 years and is still going strong. After playing cards, stories. According to Mr. Ogden, there will be no women in heaven. Why? Because after the second coming there will be a half hour of silence. And what woman can keep quiet for that went people sang to them, even their bus driver. At church on Sunday after the closing prayer, the congregation sang Aloha Oe to a couple who were leaving their ward. It was a lovely vacation. Congratulations to Doug and Karla Parsons on the birth of their son on Dec. 10. Best wishes also to the new granfparents Bishop Robert and Norma North. Of special interest is the coming visit for the holidays of the former Mary Lou Reeves and her husband Charlie Lea. They will be honored at a buffet during the holidays. This is their first visit home since their marriage Oct. 7 in Dallas Texas. The couple is stationed in Oklahoma. The Darwin Reeves are happy with the announcement of the engagement of their daughter Vicky to Michael Barrett of Provo. The date the the ladies sang carols and exchanged gifts. Then they had a refreshment. Those present included the hostess, Edith McClurg, Gladys Schroeder, Ruth Harding, Phyliss Morgan, Iva Archibald, Daneec Barker, Audra Call, Irene Simonsen, Ilene Tucker, Elva Blacker, and guest lone Olsen. The Willard First ward Primary held their faculty party Saturday in the cultural hall at the church. Cloelia Chambers planned the affair. After a turkey dinner, the sisters and their husbands were Verdon entertained by cousin Kelley Chambers Ogden, a seminary teacher at Weber High school. He sang Christmas carols and told funny June 7. wish them both health and happiness. Held last Friday under the direction of Cub Master Scott Monson and Webloes leader Bob Wheat was the Pack Meeting of We Mark Amidan, Robert Lemon, Mitch Dwight Hemsley, Dickson, Steven Summers, and Chuck Tremelling. Wolf: Clint Tremelling, and Curtis Beames. Bear: Mark Fairbanks, and Joe Christensen both of whom also received their Gold and Silver Arrow awards. Silver Arrow: Brad Wells. Gold Arrow: Clint Tremelling. One year service pins were presented to Clint Tremelling, Brad Wells, Chris White, and Cory Johnson. Two year pins were given to Mark Fairbanks, and Joe Christensen. Three year pin went to Jamie Beames. Roland Speical Presentation A special presentation of the Webloes Arrow of Light to Bryan Holmes and Jamie Beames was made. This is the highest award that can be earned in the Cub Scouting program. The highest attendance was recorded by Den 1 under the direction of Den Mother Carol Wells. They were awarded the Parents Participation award. This is a travelling trophy formerly held by Den 4. De Anne Summers led the boys and their parents in a few favorite carols. After the closing prayer, Scott Monson gave a Christmas treat to all the boys. Congratulations are extended Seth and Maureen Thorpe on the birth of their son Dec. 16. For the last week of school, the children are scheduled for some Christmas good programs. On Tuesday the Readers Theatre Group from Sheepmen in 15 western states, including Utah, will be contacted in late 1974 and early 1975 concerning production n. 14-1- This afternoon at the school, the BEHS dance club will bring a special presentation to the children. Friday there will be a special show, Francis the Talking Mule in the Haunted House. A visit from Old St. Nick is also scheduled in the afternoon. The Young Homemakers will meet tonight at 7 p.m. in the e room at the school. Attention all children.
